No reason given no comments since I was temp banned. So even drawing attention to the milk Cartel will get you a perma ban.
This ban is for making a political comment about activist's, who were killed doing activism. The activism is front and center in the title of the original post. I made zero comment about their tragic deaths.
Here is the thread in question.

You were given a short ban for using the death of these people to advance your political position, just because you disagreed with what they died doing. You're not required to agree with them but that thread was NOT the place and time to denigrate them as you did.
You then decided to make it a permanent ban by misrepresenting and downplaying what you did to appeal for sympathy. That ban won't change until there's recognition on your part that what you did was at grossly the wrong place and time. Otherwise it's liable to be an action that is repeated.

Silver $25 to $1000 #silversqueeze

$SLV $25 to $1,000 #silversqueeze of the century.
TLDR: buy silver calls. $SLV June strikes for 30, 35, 40 Or your comfort zone.
Why #silversqueeze? Because we lost confidence. Because we want fair inflation measures.

silver adjusted for inflation, is $1000

It’s now $25. that is a 40x unleveraged It’s the biggest short squeeze of the century. this article only takes 10 minutes.
I want to explain this simply. I write from the gut: straightforward There are a lot of complex explanations. There are lot of experts.
What I want to explain, is the most compelling story of manipulation in the whole world.
Let’s keep it simple WHY silver is the short squeeze of the century. This is what the Wallstreetbet community is looking for.
Governments want to mask inflation.
Why? Because wages stay low: screw workers and benefit the rich owning companies Social security would be unaffordable for governments with real inflation numbers. Did you know inflation doesn’t include food ! How much are you paying for food these days? Exactly.
Why do they need #silver & #gold for this?
Big banks are manipulating metals. Gold and silver have been money for 5000 years. when you loose confidence: you have gold, silver.
I prefer silver and gold, because i can touch it and can buy real companies.
When they can keep the prices surpressed, the world is not aware of inflation. Inflation means you are loosing buying power. Instead of $1 for a bread you pay $2 Inflation? ask Turkey
The Dollar. the Euro. the Pound.
We are in a spiral of debt created by politicians. the only way out is printing more new money. Printing new money kills confidence. We are seeing cracks appear everywhere. The end games have started. Inflation is coming for the whole world. pension funds, bonds: traditional savings will all be wiped out. By manipulating gold and silver prices, they try to hide this. As gold and silver are real money. they are a measure for how much inflation there is. They don’t want YOU to see it.
The dollar has lost 99% of it’s value against gold in the last 100 years.
Why do we attack #silver? Because it’s a very small market. Because gold will follow silver. for each 70 ounces of Silver, you can buy 1 ounce of Gold. Silver is very, very cheap.
We are going back to 15 to 1 this decade. For each 15 ounces of silver you will be able to trade them for 1 ounce of gold later on.
This is a the trade of the century, based on fundamentals.
This is end of MANIPULATION BY BIG BANKS.
Banks are creating paper contracts. Paper contracts to trade silver. There are 250 times more contracts than there is silver. This is epic. When the squeeze starts, we don’t know where it ends. The price of silver adjusted for inflation is 1000 dollars. We are at 27 dollars.
The easiest way to tackle is to buy physical silver coins, bars. You are sure you will be able to sell them at much much much higher prices. always.
Another way is to buy shares that are 100% allocated to real silver. $PSLV and in Europe PHAG.v Another way is to buy paper silver $SLV I would only buy paper silver $SLV with call options as this can squeeze it HARDER
First Majestic $AG is a heavily shorted silver miner with 26% of the shares shorted.
This is a fundamental trade, The next thing that will happen is that heavily shorted SILVER companies will revalue I have listed my favourites here.
THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE i am an amateur
How am i trading this myself?
I have been hoarding silver for years. holding thousands of silver coins. I am at 35600 ounces now. That’s a little bit more as 1 ton.
80% I am investing in small, real silver companies, listed on Canada. I prefer small companies 100% focused on SILVER In the small silversqueeze in 2010 they went as much as 40x
This time, 50x to 150x is possible. I prefer these over New York listed companies where hedge funds are playing also.
The whole silverspace will revalue. showing the world there is INFLATION.
It starts with physical. Slowly it goes to the top. when the bank manipulation blows, all bets are off.
Join us on this wild ride
GV perhaps you are asking why not target one stock? This is the beauty of the silversqueeze. it’s not a 1 week event. It’s an 18 month ride. It’s impossible to regulate. We start from the bottom, owning physical, $PSLV and PHAG.L

Aphria/Tilray Merger

Second time posting this. Made it last night but other than a collab between CGC and APHA, news about the merger seems to be the same this morning.
This is my first DD so please bare with me in case I set something up wrong; I'm happy to edit if so but this took me a while to gather.
I just joined this sub about two weeks ago amidst the GME hype. I've been investing for a few years now ever since the Tilray IPO at $17. Bought, sold, and reinvested consistently (pulling out my principal each time) right up through the almost $300 peak and backed out. I left Tilray alone for a while until recently when the news regarding the merger with Aphria started popping up because I actually love Aphria and I've owned it for a while now, so I wanted to post some DD regarding the merger. Hope this helps some of you.
For the business: Reverse merger is taking place where Aphria is absorbing Tilray and will own 63% of the company, continuing to use the name Tilray due to better brand recognition and its nearly eponymous representation of the cannabis market. Aphria has a strong presence in Germany which is the only European country with medical marijuana, so Aphria has an advantage in that sector for if/when other European nations start following suit. With both Aphria's and Tilray's international relations along with slowly migrating into the US they may grow into the largest cannabis company worldwide just in terms of revenue.
Over the previous 12 months, Aphria put up $443 million USD in revenue compared to Canopy Growth's $377m USD. Tilray has put up $201m USD in the last 12 months, and which combined with Aphria is $644m USD, or markedly higher than the $377m USD posted by the "industry standard," Canopy Growth. (I don't hate on Canopy as a company whatsoever I just think they're overvalued and their stock should not be in the $40s).
Stats from the merger indicated a $685 million annual revenue, adjusted for combined sales, and the company itself, named Tilray, will have a roughly $3.5 billion valuation.
Also, many forget that Tilray has a business partnership with Anheuser-Busch and Aphria owns the craft beer company SweetWater. (Which, personally, is fucking delicious.)
For the shareholder: Each Aphria share will convert to 0.8381 shares of Tilray. As of today (Monday, 02/08/21) the closing price of Tilray was $30.09 and the price of Aphria was $18.98. In accordance to the 1 : .8381 conversion rate, the implied price of Aphria is $25.22, which has a 33% upside compared to the current share price.
I don't know the current borrowing rates (if anyone does please feel free to comment), but in January of 2019 the shorting cost for Tilray was above 900% and has been known to remain very high on this stock, as after it's $300 rally a couple years ago it became a favorite among the shorts. There is a way in which to capitalize on the merger by being long on Aphria and short Tilray, but the 30% profit may be outweighed by the crazy high costs of borrowing.
The two biggest risks appear to be the possibility that Aphria shares will crash days before the merger, or that that Tilray has simply been overvalued this entire time and its share price will fall. (The strategy is listed in the sources here https://seekingalpha.com/article/4404265-tilray-aphria-30-merger-arbitrage-is-tough-to-play & here https://seekingalpha.com/article/4401101-aphria-and-tilray-option-strategy-enhances-returns-and-mitigates-losses but you can only open the articles once without a subscription
For everyone: The general consensus on both stocks is bullish, however, more focus is placed on buying into Tilray than Aphria, seemingly just due to the belief that people may jump ship days before Aphria shares are converted into Tilray (even though Aphria still owns the operation). The company will also have easy access into the United States as our president restructures drug scheduling, so moving forward, I feel that Tilray is going to be a strong global competitor in the cannabis industry for some time
I try not to go balls deep on anything that has a lot of hype on it, but Tilray made me BANK right when I first started investing a few months before Canada legalized so I may be biased. However, as objectively as I can be, I do think this merger is both a very strong short and long option.
I don't really know if it's a necessary disclaimer or a joke but I'm gonna go ahead and say no, none of this is financial advice.
My positions: 100 APHA @ $11.13, 2 TSLA @ $408.66, 3 GME @ $165, 10 AMC @ $17.04, 100 SNDL @ $1.13, 100 22 RIGL @ $4.40
Calls: APHA $20 2/19, TLRY $37 2/19, SENS $4 2/19, CRBP $3 2/19, RIGL $5 2/19
I'm transferring both my RH and TDA accounts over to Fidelity so all my stocks are in different places atm, otherwise I'd post a picture.

Edit 2: Added the following list below of supporting info for legalizing marijuana nationwide.
A trio of U.S. senators has given investors the green light to invest in marijuana stocks, an endorsement that suggests the volatile sector might finally blossom into something as acceptable and regulated as alcohol.
More details will emerge when Sens. Cory Booker (D., N.J.), Ron Wyden, (D., Ore.), and Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) introduce legislation to legalize and tax marijuana.
"In the early part of this year, we will release a unified discussion draft on comprehensive reform to ensure restorative justice, protect public health and implement responsible taxes and regulations," they announced Feb. 1 in a joint statement.
The marijuana sector has, naturally, advanced higher. The sector proxy, the ETFMG Alternative Harvest exchange- traded fund , has seemingly entered a new, higher trading range. The ETF holds 35 stocks, including Aphria(APHA) , Canopy Growth(CGC) , and GW Pharmaceuticals(GWPH) . The fund has about $1.4 billion under management, which makes it the largest ETF that targets the global cannabis industry.
In anticipation of the pending legislation, and in an attempt to harness the momentum of other investors, aggressive investors can consider buying ETFMG Alternative Harvest. The ETF is trading near a record high, but an options strategy can potentially reshape the price.
With the ETF at $27.82, investors can sell the March $25 put option for $1.90 and buy the March $29 call option for about $2.80. The "risk reversal" -- selling a put and buying a call with a higher strike price but similar expiration -- positions investors for agreeing to buy the ETF at $25 and for participating in gains above $29.
If the ETF is at $35 at March expiration, the call is worth $6.
The trade's risk is predicated on the pending legislation. The trade obligates investors to buy the stock at $23, or to cover the put or roll the position, if the stock price is below the strike price at expiration. For that reason, only do this trade if you have the resources and willingness to buy the ETF at a lower price and a belief in marijuana's pending legalization. If something happens in Washington that derails marijuana legalization efforts, the trade falls apart.
Still, the trade is a good way for investors to gain exposure to the legalization of marijuana, which seems like a good bet as federal government contends with massive deficits caused by the 2007-09 financial crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic.
The ETF was chosen over component stocks to potentially reduce the investment risk that is inherent in picking stocks in an unusual sector with companies that have a history of extraordinary price volatility.
During the past 52 weeks, the ETF has ranged from $8.81 to $27.90. The fund gained about 45% over the past year and is up some 67% this year. The percentage returns seem stellar, but it is important to remember that the fund has advanced off a low price, and that many of the components weren't much better situated. The sector could be facing a critical moment, and this trade puts investors into the center of the industry with a strategy that can be reset as each month passes. First Date

First, first date in 3 years in just 10 minutes. Wish me luck friends. Hopefully she doesn’t find me unattractive but more than anything, hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be a dude haha.
UPDATE:
Wow! I was not expecting such an overwhelming response. With that in mind, I’d like to start by saying thank you for all of the positivity and encouragement I received from every single one of you! Although some of you may have concluded that my date and I shared a night in the sheets, I can assure you we had a completely wholesome night. For everyone who was worried about COVID, we had a socially distanced date which was agreed upon from the start!
Now for the details. I’ll be honest, I’m pretty drunk right now after talking with my friends online and just enjoying the remainder of my Saturday evening after my date. You want to know how the date went right? I’m nervous as hell to talk about it because I feel like I have literally 2000+ eyes watching me, but I’ll attempt to describe the details of my date with the hopes of providing insight for both the inexperienced and experienced alike. I may be drunk but here’s my story!
For context you may like to know that I’m 24M and she’s 23F. I have always been insecure about my appearance. Due to this I have intentionally gone out of my way to avoid intimacy because I felt like a girl being interested me in a sexual capacity was unfathomable. As a result, I am a 24 year old virgin.
Listen here my fellow virgins. I am not ashamed of maintaining my pristine V card. At the end of the day it’ll either be worth nothing or it’ll be worth everything. It depends how much value you’re willing to place on it. Personally, I have always wanted to lose my virginity to someone I care about. Day by day it feels more and more like a distant fantasy yet I still hold on to that innocence honourably. Don’t get me wrong though. I have equal respect for those who are willing to explore their sexuality fully with their partner(s). I believe someone’s sexuality should be their own, whether they are a virgin or not. It’s nothing to be ashamed of nor is being an absolute charmer if you treat your partner(s) respectfully. Now that I’m done going on a self righteous tangent about being a virgin, let’s talk about my date.
It sucked. At least the beginning did. I had planned a nice scenic walk along the waterfront paired with some tea I picked up for us beforehand. Sounds pretty reasonable right? Wrong. The waterfront wasn’t salted at all (I live in Canada and the windchill by the waterfront was at least -20C). Due to the pathway being unsalted, our walking route was severely limited in addition to slowly being turned into popsicles because of the bitter cold. The weather had been acceptable a few days prior, however, God had different plans for this momentous day. Assaulted by the elements, all the effort I put into looking like my best self were all for naught. I was reduced to nothing but a weak, shivering, feeble man with snot and tears running down his face in front of this beautiful Italian woman.
She endured it more honourably than I did but eventually starting to lose feeling in her hands, face, and toes too. At this point I had to abandon phase 1 and move on to phase 2. Grab food to eat at a local vegan restaurant I thought she’d like (she’s vegetarian). We got lost several times because a food truck was blocking the sign of the small restaurant we were looking for. I felt absolutely embarrassed at this point. I guided us with such confidence yet I couldn’t find one simple store nearby. Alas, we finally found it but I had lost my mask somewhere along the way during our walk. I refused to let my date walk in and order for the both of us so I wrapped my scarf around my face and ended up looking like a tool just so I could share this moment with her. How romantic!
After securing our food I wanted to go to a local lookout point of the city but we had already succumbed to the cold. We ended up agreeing to eat in the warmth of our cars (separately) with the windows rolled down and cars pulled close together. We both still live with our families (many of which work frontline) so we wanted to minimize the risk of COVID. Sure, it was simple as hell and everything I had planned meant little to nothing. But let me tell you something. The first hour and a half we spent walking around in the cold in literal pain was worth it.
It gave us something to laugh about. It was memorable in the worst way possible but more than anything, it showed I cared. Fellas/Ladies, if you’re trying to make an impression then make sure to have a plan that takes some thought. Hell, my date was thankful I did something as simple as picking up vegetarian friendly candy for us to share. I don’t doubt she would have been more than happy with just that because the most enjoyable part of our date was being able to focus on each other.
We spent almost 2 hours walking around in the cold but the last 3 hours we spent talking in our cars seemed to fly by. When we had finally thawed out, both our nerves seemed to settled and we could really get a feel for each other and what we stood for. She was a stand up girl. Nothing to hide and a genuine person right up front. What you see is what you get and I admired it so much. We spent those last few hours talking about the stupidest things, laughing at lame jokes, and bonding over both our similarities and differences.
So what’s my takeaway from this comedic first date of mine? Have a plan, friends. Having a date plan that takes into account the interests of your date can go a long way. Mine fell flat almost immediately but the sentiment was there and I know she appreciated it. It demonstrates what your intentions are and where your heart is. We may have just ended up talking in a parking garage but I can guarantee that the thought I put into the date made it a lot easier for her to feel comfortable talking to me.
Here’s some more advice. Focus on the person behind the pretty face. It’s contradictory to the concept of dating, but view them as a potential friend rather than a date you NEED to secure. Lay on the occasional compliment here and there but don’t drown them with your affections. Don’t force it. I can’t speak for the entirety of women but as a guy, if I woman smothered me with nothing but compliments without focusing on a friendly conversation I would have some hesitations.
Did I get a second date? Yes, I did but I am not expecting our newly founded friendship to go anywhere. I spent 3 years in a relationship and it’s glaringly obvious to me now that it’s going to be very hard for me to form a meaningful connection like that again. I imagine it’s the same on her end. Although I’d like to imagine she enjoyed my company, my insecurity still eats away at me and I question whether or not she agreed to a second date just to pity me. But you know what? I’m on the verge of tears just knowing I’ve made the first monumental step towards moving on. All the work I put into myself after my breakup was worth something after all.
I never could have imagined a version of myself being able to talk to another girl in my life. I thought my last relationship must have been a fluke yet here I was talking to an absolute sweetheart. I’m honestly on the verge of crying (probably because I’m drunk), but they are happy tears. For the first time in months my tears don’t feel like meaningless drops in an expansive ocean. They feel like concentrated doses of pure courage, testosterone, and hope that I have been cultivating for months despite every hardship that has crossed my path.
Simply knowing that me, someone who felt so worthless, someone who had hit Rock Bottom in Bikini Bottom, had caught someone’s eye was euphoric. It doesn’t need to mean anything more than that. If she doesn’t want to pursue something romantic with me then I’m okay with that. Cling on to that “sliver” of hope fellow daters. Because at the end of the day, it may not just be a sliver. It could be a whole damn slice of your favourite cake. Just because you may not be right for one person doesn’t mean you’re not right for someone else. I spent 3 gosh dang years with someone I shouldn’t have been with. We weren’t compatible but we forced ourselves to believe we were. But listen here ya goof! In some weird way I believe those 3 years are going to lead me to the right person at the right time as UNLIKELY as it seems.
I learned so many things from my past relationship that have made me confident enough to even go on a date off a dating app (this was my first ever date via online). Every one of my experiences will guide me to where I need to go, whether I envision it myself or it just happens. Trust me when I say I was skeptical as all hell for my future after losing my ex. I can’t remember how many days I contemplated just disappearing along with the future I dreamed for us. I held on for my family. I held on because if I really do only have one shot at life, “you bet your sweet bippy” I ain’t going down without a fight.
So, in conclusion my date was simple as heck. It’s not some Cinderella story and I’m anything but a Prince. If you read all of this then you can probably gauge just how much of an internet dweller I am. Hear my rally fellow dwellers for there is hope for us and for everyone on this small planet we call Earth. Life works in seriously messed up, unpredictable, and hilarious ways sometimes. The person you fall in love with? They could be one of the amazing people in these comments. Hope is never just right around the corner though. You have to navigate through a hellish maze filled with multiple dead ends before you find a few breadcrumbs to set you straight. Work on yourself, as cliche as that is, and you might just find those breadcrumbs sooner than you think. It takes courage to cling to hope like your life depended on it, but please take that chance Reddit.
I spent 2.5 years with the girl I wanted to marry, have kids with, and love for the rest of my life. I sacrificed so much for her but I was living a fantasy while the sun was slowly setting in our relationship from her perspective.
I was strung along for another 6 months after she broke up with me until she found someone new and left me for the wolves. She never had to deal with the breakup right away like I had to. She had him whereas I was left to try and rebuild a life without her. I had to reclaim my identity and remember what it meant to be alone even if it meant confronting my loneliness and depression. Good news is I’m still alive. To me, this date was like stumbling upon a breadcrumb in that hellish maze I mentioned. It could lead to another breadcrumb or it could lead to something much more.
Only time will tell. So there you have it. A completely accurate yet unnecessarily long description of my date. I couldddd include a TL:DR but I’m too tired and I’m also curious if anyone will take the time to read this. I encourage you to save this post and read it over multiple sittings opposed to just one! However, if you’re brave then please feel free to do so!
Hopefully this wasn’t too disappointing for everyone waiting for a response. If it was, I’m genuinely sorry but if people are interested, I would love to chronicle the progress (if any) of my connection with this lovely woman.

I went from being super proud of me to being disgusted of myself in just 2 months

Just by reading the title you know what this is about. I lost money to AMC, GME. Not anywhere near people I see in WSB, but right now, I am down $1500. I know this is loose change for a lot of you and honestly, it's not an amount that's going to put me on the street or anything, but it was my summer earnings that I saved for a trip to New York and cities around (I am from Canada).
I am a business student, currently in University and investment finance always seemed very interesting and fascinating to me. So, since Canada banned non-essential travels between US/Canada borders, I was left with vacation money which was around 3000 USD.
Instead of putting it in a savings account, I decided to finally start investing. I was using subs like stocks, personalfinance, personalfinancecanada for forums and was doing my own market research (the best somebody can do with little knowledge), learning, and was super excited to finally find a sector I wanted to invest in. Renewable Energy. I invested all of my $3000 in $PLUG, $FCELL and the rest in companies that are safe like $AAPL, $WELL. It was fantastic. In just around 2 months, I made over 40% on my 3000$ capital and I was really proud of myself. I was motivated to do more research, learn more, and I felt good about myself (University grades were great, potential internships coming soon hopefully), it was just perfect.
And then the GME, AMC thing started. So much contents, memes, to the moon post, that at one point, I completely lost my common sense, my rational part of the brain stopped working, I went from speaking like a normal person to... You know what I am talking about. My emoji recommendation changed to the rocket, diamonds, it's like I completely lost myself into a wild cocaine party full of booze and tequila marijuana smoothie with mushroom garnitures and I drank them all and decided to become a R... (As they say).
My senses came back today morning once I finally noticed what I had actually done, and realized how much I went against all the single concepts and fundamentals I used to start trading.
I am still holding, because well, market's closed but I seriously don't know what to do. Good companies go back up. Gamestop has nothing backing itself up except rumours of a potential short saueeze and faith of millions who went all in.
It's not the $3000 (net) that's bothering me, it's just that, I started out like a normal person who was doing amazing and got turned into a cult member. I am not hating into anybody of WSB, I don't even blame them. I blame my own judgement. I learnt my lesson but then again, it's not like I didn't know what I was getting into. It was mostly stupidity and greed I think.
Any advice, any suggestion, any smack in the head, reality check would be appreciated. Sorry for the rant. This is the only sane community that deals with stocks currently.
Edit: I would like to thank you all for all these amazing advices, for your support and for sharing your perspectives. They are interesting and motivating. I would love to reply to all of your comments but it's getting tougher and tougher with so many responses. I just want you to know, I really appreciate it and I am grateful for all these rational explanations.
Edit 2: To all of you WallStreetBets people, who are directly attacking me personally in comments or inbox, I get your sentiment and I just want you all to know I don't hold anything against any of you. I hope it hits the moon so that I regret giving up, and you all make up your loss. I feel better even if it makes me 'weak' and 'paper handed'.

Exposing Sundial growers, ticker SNDL

Please put up with my smooth brain analysis, here. Like many of you, I consider myself a connoisseur and producer of modern aut. I am autist in my own right, and as such I have spent hours looking over the shady financial reporting of this shady company.
Of course, I am in no way certified to give financial advice to anyone. I am simply concerned that this company, if it is really fraudulent, is going to destroy investor's savings, and I think it's only fair that I express these concerns.
I'll try to keep this concise, and not miss any details, because there is a lot going on here, and it really does get complicated.
Fair warning, my decision has been to invest in some put options on February 11th before the price started dropping, and it's up to you whether you want to as well. I give no advice on such an investment, but I personally think I made the best choice, and I know for a fact that their financials do not add up, so this is more to call attention to anyone who might be convinced to invest just how bad of a decision that would be...
Here are some reasons:
A. OBVIOUS SHILLS
I won't name names, but obvious shills like u/Masternewworldorder have been trying to pump up the stock price through a social media campaign and ride the coattails of the GME debacle. I would not just simply post this guy's name on here if I had any other way to show how all 18 posts on his account are about hyping Sundial using the GME fiasco as a model for doing so. He even mentions GME, calling SNDL the "next" SNDL. To you, buddy, if you're doing what everybody knows you're doing, and the SEC finds out, you and those you work for or with will probably be arrested. Not only that, but his page clearly breaks a few rules on the sub. Pump & Dump most likely, advertisement, market manipulation, etc.
If you're just riding the hype wagon, you should really choose another company to hype up. If I'm correct in my math, they don't have the funds to operate through the quarter, nor can they get a loan to continue operations. I'll discuss their lies about their debt at the bottom of the page. I'll just say for now, it's my belief that they are either doing a pump and dump, or using share capital to have enough cash that they can file for bankruptcy and walk away with cash and hand.
B. DISGRACEFUL FINANCIALS
Financial reports must comply with a ton of SEC and FTC laws about documents that they have to file. This is to protect those who would wish to invest their money so as to be protected from the sort of activities that would destroy them, and any trust in the stock market that they had. Maybe I'm cynical, but that last part is the most important. SEC wants trust, because then they have a functional system.
A company that is traded on an American stock exchange must fulfill certain requirements regarding their financial reports, that usually allow for an exception in the case of international filers, but Canada is very similar in this regard, though perhaps notable from this stock, that's not the case at all [1]
  1. Their most up to date report shows $500 million in share capital with $70 million equity. (I believe that's Canadian $)
  2. leveraged against the share capital is a $500 million accumulated deficit, up $140 million from the year before. Coincidentally, their debt obligations are down $140 million from the year before as well. This suggests they are using issued stock and general market manipulations to pay off their debt. They say that the issuance of more stock is for a few things, depending on which report you read. I can't find them all, but trust me, https://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?action=getcompany&CIK=0001766600&type=&dateb=&owner=include&start=0&count=40, it's in here somewhere. They say it's for purchasing of new properties, or maybe operation activities, but they never clearly state that they are paying off their debt with the new stock. I don't know if that's illegal or not, but it's definitely untrustworthy.
  3. For the 9 month period from January 1st, 2020 to September 30th 2020, they had $12 million in revenue, which cost them $10 million to sell, but they also lost ~ $20 million to inventory obsolescence, and $60 million to asset impairment. As an investor, I would like to know why that happened, but their reporting makes absolutely no mention of it in their section Risk Factors on all F-3 filings [2]. They may not have to include that, but again, you should really be given the opportunity to find out, and any company acting with the foresight to know stockholder trust is important - any company who wants to succeed - will make these things abundantly clear.
C. LETTER FROM THE AUDITOR
This is the icing on the cake, and which verifies to me that there is so much more going on here than I could even understand. The auditor is paid by the company to look at their financials thoroughly to see if the condensed info meets standards, and fairly describes the company's information to the potential stockholders.
This auditor has time and again given them the same letter more or less, stating that their financials show that the company has been acting in breach of their debt covenant, which is the most evidence of a serious issue here. They also say that various other issues in Sundial's reporting gives them concern that the company should not, and probably will not be able to continue operating the way that they are [3]. This is all I need to know, really. And why any speculative raise in their market capitalization on the stock market gives me serious concern about the current state of our economic system. It's examples like these which destroy investor confidence, and lead to seriously tough times. Shorting this position is not just profitable, it's necessary to save the soundness of our economy, in my opinion.
D. SUSPICIOUS REASONS FOR FULFILLMENT OF DEBTS
If securities on an exchange are linked to the equity of a firm that goes bankrupt and cannot operate, then all that money goes out of investors hands, and into the hands of debtors, or is liquidated and given to the preferred stock holders.
Luckily for the executives and majority shareholders of Sundial Growers, Inc, they have a tiny little clause hidden in one of their reports which says that all liquidated funds must first be given to preferred stock holders before any is given to issued common stock traded on any exchange [4].
This is important, because they have clearly stated that they can issue indefinite numbers of preferred and common stock, and that preferred stock gets first right in the case of liquidation. Essentially, they can use the extra stock issuance to dilute costs and trick investors into thinking EPS is getting closer to that above 0 marker (total earnings continues to drop further every statement), while also separately securing any cash left by issuing more preferred stock to themselves upon liquidation so that you, the investor, get absolutely nothing while they get any proceeds from going bankruptcy, possibly even millions.
E. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE COMPANY EVEN
https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgadata/1766600/000110465920114508/a20-32923_1sc13g.htm
Some guy named Ryan Dunfield, who is mentioned nowhere else in their financials, received 25,000,000 shares in preferred stock for absolutely zero dollars in cost to him, well, actually, it's that Ryan Dunfield gets 25 million shares,[redacted company name],[redacted company name], and 1920576 ALBERTA LTD all get shares as well. However, these are 3 companies of which Ryan Dunfield is the president and/or CEO. Ryan Dunfield got 1/10 of all stocks available, not to mention voting power from these stocks, without paying any money for them, This was filed very recently too, It was filed after the last known financial report on September 30th. I haven't calculated all of the other people's issuance of preferred stock either, but this is definitely suspect to me. These sorts of dealings are being done all the time by this company, but they drown out the sec filings by naming every single filing under the exact same document name, so it's damn near impossible to keep track of any of it.
F. NUMBERS DONT ADD UP
It's also convenient that they just issued common stock to fill the company with cash, and actually did away with all of their debt. If that is to be believed (sorry, I can't find any proof in their filings), then they are a rarity among companies to have done so and maintained a $600 million cash reserve. Not to mention that the $500 million accumulated deficit, the $100 million total debt and accounts payable, along with a $90 million operating loss all is somehow accounted for by $18 million in financing income (stock issuance I presume) before September 30th of last year, and supposedly $100 million in stock issuance if you read any related news, and less than $200 million in illiquid assets. Honestly, I don't know how these numbers can turn $20 million cash into $600 million cash in 3 months.
However they managed to pull that off this year, I'm pretty sure that they will continue to leverage this as a deficit against their Share capital. If that's the case, they now have $600 million share capital with $690 million in deficit leveraged against that.
I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this, but if you owe a bank money, you can't simply say "Sorry, this isn't actually a debt, it's a deficit". It doesn't work that way, and reporting it that way is serious fraud. They may not actually be prosecuted for this fraud, but it still exists, and it is damaging to those who would invest in it.
G. SHOW THE INSTITUTIONS AND THE SEC WE CAN HANDLE OURSELVES
The institutions have not invested anything in this company, and I suspect it has everything to do with their financials. I bet you if a company with a large amount of institutional ownership operated the way this company does, then the SEC would be their to protect the institutions so fast.
Instead, it's left up to the little guys, who don't have enough money to pay Treasurers from the shady San Francisco political bubble $800k in speaking fees, to fend for themselves. We all take the most risk in the market because we're targeted by scammers, immeasurably larger competition, and indifferent regulators. In my opinion, this short position against Sundial would be exactly what we need to show regulators what it's like to do their job.
By the way, I'm pretty suspicious about the timing of this sudden increase in cash, given that I'm pretty sure tax season, and financial reporting season are very soon. Showing really large capital on their filings (which actually disappear the day after) would help secure them a new loan to save their ass. It's no wonder why a small company with 90% of their capital lost would want their financials looking a bit crisper on their sec filings.
H. MAGIC NUMBER
If all of this is lost on you, at least realize that they potentially have a $690 million deficit if my math is right.

EDIT: I don't have any positions in the company expiring today, nor do I think them staying on will stop the inevitability of my position making money. I could exit it now at a profit if I wanted to. It's a principled matter at this point, and more of a warning about some misinformation I've seen posted here regarding their financials. Just check the sec filings if you want to make your own decision. Don't trust what I say, trust the facts.

EDIT 2: I think I actually found some proof of price manipulation and insider trading. In the picture attached, you can clearly see that $5C for SNDL randomly bounced up in price midday on January 27th, two days before a registered offering. Viewing the $5C as opposed to a lower value call allows you to see the most highly volatile moments, since the less extreme side of option chains are often more easily obscured by normalization of daily trading

Blindly voting Conservative every election is hurting our province and alienating us from the rest of the country

As the title states, voting conservative every election has turned Alberta from what should be an economic haven into a dump with double digit unemployment. This post that someone had made earlier today pointing out that Jason Kenney pretty much straight up lies to our faces and still polls at 40% as well as just knowing a ton of people who vote conservative for literally know reason has urged me to start the fight on having some education for voters in Alberta.
Base Politics
The first thing I think worth reading is this post on base politics. It even compares us to other oil states and how much worse economically we are doing. Base politics is exactly the issue in Alberta where I would bet there's a large percentage of people who have voted conservative every election they voted in. It isn't a secret and there are tons of articles out there pointing out that the conservatives don't get voted in because of their policies and that Albertans aren't as conservative in political beliefs as we believe. Articles like this and this go over it.
Polarization
This has resulted in a polarization among Albertans that is alienating us from the rest of the country. If everyone else isn't bending over backwards to help us sell oil then they are our enemy. While I'm not against pipelines or trying to sell our oil, its also our fault were still reliant on it. The first article I linked dips into this a little bit. Norway (a similar economy to ours) started diversifying their economy in 2006 and now has an unemployment rate of like 4% compared to Alberta that has spent time in the double digits and nearly hit 20% for young adults. Threatening everyone to let us build pipelines and throwing a fit is only making people want to help us less, who we should be throwing a fit at is a conservative government that did no diversification for 40 years and now every time oil prices go down the province has to shutdown.
Bad Economic Policy
One of the main reasons you'll hear people say they vote conservative: "Oh well at least they don't just waste money like the socialists!!!" which may or may not be true. Sure something like the NDP might spend a little more money, but economic policy isn't about what money is spent (especially when interest rates are so cheap), it is about how it is spent. While previous conservative governments didn't do great work (leaving us with the worst heritage fund between us Alaska and Norway despite having a hire GDP per capita), the most recent UCP government is the absolute epitome of throwing away money (but it is on oil stuff so a lot of people don't care). Throwing away $1.5B on a pipeline that was extremely likely to be cancelled, millions and millions on some stupid oil war room that doesn't make sense and reducing taxes for big companies. On top of just spending dumb money, they are also trying to sell our profitable aspects of government like our registry services. A literal dog in office would be doing a better job.
There is nothing wrong with conservative values, but that doesn't mean blindly vote for a party with that name just because. There is no reason the UCP should be even in the running. But this isn't the first time this has happened, Alison Redford polled extremely poorly with a bad approval rating and still won a majority just because and then continued to rob the province blind. Just my thoughts, if anyone has contrasting opinions feel free to share, that is the only way we can all learn and make this province the best it can be

Titan Medical ($TMDI) - An emerging leader in surgical robotics. Why Titan Medical is poised to replicate the 11,000% returns of Intuitive Surgical, and why I have recently become so bullish.

I DON’T LIKE TO READ. DO YOU HAVE ANY VIDEOS I CAN WATCH?
GIVE ME A COMPANY OVERVIEW
Titan Medical is a medical robotics company, based in Toronto, Canada, which recently completed an incentive based partnership with Medtronic, the largest medical supply company in the world. Titan Medical’s flagship product is the Enos surgical suite, an ergonomic, single access surgical system, that uses multi-articulated instruments with fluid motion guidance to replicate natural movement. Their workstation is smaller and more mobile than both the Intuitive and TransEntrix surgical suites. With a single port of entry, the Enos requires minimal innervation, resulting in less trauma and scarring than its competitors. They are lead by chairman and CEO, David McNally, a 33 year veteran in the medical device industry, and the co-founder of ZEVEX, an award-winning medical device company.
TELL ME ABOUT THEIR FLAGSHIP PRODUCT
The Enos surgical system, which was rebranded in September of 2020, is a mobile, single access surgical suite, designed in coordination with laparoscopic and robotic assisted surgeons. Unlike other devices, such as the da Vinci from Intuitive Surgical, the Enos was developed as a cost-effective, single-incision system, with reusable multi-articulating instruments, and a small footprint. In addition to traditional operating room procedures, the Enos targets underserved markets, such as a small ambulatory surgical centers. The Enos was designed with an open architecture, allowing it to adapt to future instruments, beyond traditional graspers, hooks, drivers, and scissors. To date, it has completed numerous pre-clinical procedures, including hysterectomies, nephrectomies, cholecystectomies, gastrectomies, splenectomies, and colectomies. For peer-reviewed abstracts, please refer to page 14 of Titan Medical’s investor overview.
WHAT DOES THE MANAGEMENT LOOK LIKE?
Titan Medical is lead by chairman and CEO, David McNally, the founder of Domain Surgical, and the co-founder of ZEVEX, an award winning medical technology company. He is also the co-inventor of over 40 U.S. and international medical device patents. Look at this man. He is the most CEO looking guy that I’ve ever seen. He’s been building successful companies since his early twenties. At research and development, the company is lead by Dr. Perry Genova, PhD, an accomplished biomedical engineering executive. Dr. Genova previously managed Centauri Robotic Surgical Systems, a private company specializing in robotic stereotactic neurosurgery. Prior to that, Dr. Genova was the president and CEO of Oncoscope, a medical device company that was acquired by SpectraScience in 2016.
DOES TITAN MEDICAL OWN ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY?
Yes, Titan Medical has 58 issued patents, with 84 patent applications pending.
DOES TITAN MEDICAL HAVE ANY INTERESTING PARTNERSHIPS?
Yes, and for me, this was the most important recent milestone. In June of 2020, Titan Medical entered into an agreement with Medtronic to advance the development of their robotic surgery technologies. The agreement includes a 10 million dollar payment, and an additional series of payments totaling $31 million in exchange for Medtronic’s right to license certain technologies from Titan Medical. Medtronic is the largest medical device company in the world, and they are making substantial efforts to compete with Intuitive Surgical. Medtronic has a long history of billion dollar acquisitions. For example, in 2018, they purchased Mazor Robotics, a medical robotics company that specializes in spinal surgery, for $1.7 billion. If I had to speculate, I believe there is a high probability that Medtronic acquires Titan Medical.
DOES TITAN HAVE THE CAPITAL TO CONTINUE DEVELOPMENT?
Yes, please refer to the paragraph above, which discusses their partnership with Medtronic. You can view Titan Medical’s third quarter 2020 press release here. You can view their $10 million technical milestone press release here.
WHAT OTHER INTERESTING DEVELOPMENTS HAVE OCCURRED RECENTLY?
  1. In addition to their partnership with Medtronic, Titan Medical released a regulatory update, from the FDA, which indicated that the Enos system is appropriate for classification through the De Novo pathway, and confirmed that Titan Medical will file a clarifying pre-submission for Investigational Device Exemption studies.
In view of the FDA’s written response and other information available to the Company at this time, the Company would likely proceed with a De Novo classification request for its Enos system in place of a 510(k) submission. Should the FDA grant the De Novo classification request, the Class II device would be cleared to be marketed.
  1. In late 2020, Titan rebranded its surgical system, the SPORT surgical system, to the Enos robotic single access surgical system, so it could better represent its design and capabilities.
  2. In late 2020, Titan Medical obtained two additional U.S. patents for methods and apparatuses for camera positioning and hand controller Apparatus for gesture control and shared input control in a robotic surgical system.
  3. In September of 2020, only a few months after Titan Medical inked a deal with Medtronic, we saw a major increase in institutional investment. JP Morgan increased their equity in Titan Medical by 29,600 shares, for a total of 47,000. Bank of America increased their position by 60,900 shares, for a total of 70,605. Two Sigma Advisers, the famed hedge fund which uses AI and machine learning, increased their position by 73,500, for a total of 220,600 shares. Other notable institutional investors include Capital One, Morgan Stanley and Royal Bank of Canada.
WHERE DO YOU SEE THIS COMPANY IN THE FUTURE?
At this stage, I consider Titan Medical to be an early iteration of Intuitive Surgical ($ISRG), which is a leader in robotic-assisted systems. Intuitive Surgical developed the famed da Vinci surgical system, which received FDA approval in 2000. Since the release of the da Vinci system, Intuitive Surgical’s stock has appreciated over 8,000%. There is a growing consensus that robotic-assisted companies will become the leading investment class over the next several decades, even outpacing dominant stocks, like Amazon or Apple. Considering the competitive landscape, the previous success of Intuitive, the rapid growth in robotic technology, and Titan Medical’s partnership with Medtronic, it’s reasonable to consider that they might be acquired by Medtronic.
WHY SHOULD I SPECULATE ON TITAN MEDICAL INSTEAD OF INVESTING IN INTUITIVE SURGICAL?
The easiest answer is the best answer. This is a microcap stock forum, and our goal is to discover and speculate on companies before they reach extraordinary valuations. Intuitive is an established company, and the majority of its yield has already been realized. Titan Medical is an early stage, medical robotics company, with a suite of emerging robotics technology, and a series of upcoming triggers both in the near-term, and over the course of the next several months and years. Their incentive based partnership with Medtronic gives them access to capital, engineering, and leadership, ensuring the company can reach full commercialization.
HOW WELL WILL THE SURGICAL ROBOT MARKET DEVELOP?
There are various opinions on this subject, but all reports indicate massive growth over the next 5-7 years, citing CAGR rates between 16-25%. You can read analysis from Emergen Research and MordorIntelligence. The competitive landscape is straddled between a fragmented market, without dominant players, and a consolidated market, dominated by only a few major players. More specific reports, such as the Global Urology Robotic Surgery Market 2020 report, cites Titan Medical as a top player in the robotic surgery market. Historically, and recently, companies like Intuitive, Stryker, Verb Surgical, and Medtronic have made several acquisitions, all in an effort to gain an edge. I believe this reinforces the possibility that Titan Health could be acquired, especially considering the ENOS system has unique engineering elements and patents that existing and developing surgical suites do not have.
WHY ARE YOU BUYING IN RIGHT NOW?
I have been following Titan Medical for over two years now. Previously, I was hesitant to invest due to their financial situation. I wasn't certain if they had enough capital and resources to reach commercialization, but I remained highly interested. Their presentations during 2020 were compelling, especially when they presented at the H.C. Wainwright conference. I was on the verge of opening a position, and when Medtronic announced their deal, I was convinced this is was company I wanted to speculate on long term. Recently, I've noticed an increase in major institutional investments, and the regulatory feedback they have received from the FDA has been great. It creates compelling headlines, and brings us closer to an ultimate FDA clearance. Based on sentiment and activity analytics, I believe that they’re entering the beginning of a hype period. I expect we'll begin to see numerous articles and forum posts about them. For these reasons, and several more, I increased my position on Friday by 6,000 shares.
WHERE ARE WE AT IN THE HYPE STAGE?
Let me preface by stating that I almost exclusively prefer to enter positions before any hype exists. You will make significantly better returns by positioning yourself before the crowd arrives than you will by chasing the hype after it has occurred. Based on market sentiment, and the frequency at which Titan Medical is referenced on YouTube, reddit, and other social media and investment platforms, I believe we’re at the beginning of the bell curve. I use a proprietary sentiment tracker, which I cannot release (it’s not mine), however publicly available systems, such as Google’s trend analytics, show that activity has recently broken a 30 day high. For the first time, over the last 1-2 weeks, I’ve begun to see the first references to Titan Medical on various YouTube channels. However, the activity on Reddit is currently very small, which is good in my opinion, since Reddit tends to be last in the hype cycle. By the time stock picks become hyped on Reddit, most of the short term gains have been had.
WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MUCH CONFIDENCE IN THIS STOCK?
My background is in medicine and human physiology, while my more recent work and education is in financial markets. Although I was not a surgeon, I have an adequate medical background to understand the need and utility of surgical robots, and to be able to accurately interpret research publications. I have a network of friends and colleagues in the industry that have helped me review the company, including several laparoscopic surgeons. However, the majority of my confidence comes from Medtronic. As a partner and investor, Medtronic received exclusive access to the finances and engineering of Titan Medical. They were able to investigate the company beyond what any of us could accomplish, and these investigations resulted in a significant partnership. Based on Medtronic’s success, their history of acquisitions, their extensive resources, and their explicit desire to dominate the robotic surgery market, I believe Titan Medical is a winning investment. Because Titan Medical is in a pre-commercialization stage, the masses have not yet noticed this stock, and I believe that provides an asymmetrical risk due to the enormous potential profit. Even at early speculative stages, I expect this company to have a billion dollar market cap.
THIS SOUNDS INTERESTING. HIT ME WITH SOME CRAZY HYPE. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN AN IDEAL SCENARIO?
If Titan Medical were to achieve a market capitalization similar to Intuitive Surgical, it would reach an equity share price of approximately $1,140/share. This would amount to an estimated 46,500% increase from Titan Medical’s current share price. In the short term, I believe we see major price action based on their Medtronic partnership, their improved financial situation ($10M bought deal offering is expected to close on Jan 29th), their FDA milestones, and their pre-clinical operations. Based on the impressive price action on Friday, and over the course of the previous week, I expect this company to start hitting Reddit, YouTube, and other major forums, which, believe it or not, has been a major indicator for short and long term stock gains.
TL;DR: Titan Medical is a surgical robotics company that developed the Enos surgical suite, an innovative, single-access surgical system, designed in coordination with laparoscopic and robotic assisted surgeons. This company plans to replicate the success of Intuitive Surgical, a surgical robotics company worth over $87 billion, who’s share price has increased over 11,000% since the introduction of their da Vinci surgical system. In addition to their rebranding, Titan Medical recently completed an incentive based partnership with Medtronic, the largest medical device company in the world, which will provide financing, board oversight, and research and development assistance. This is a major milestone for Titan Health, because it ensures their success, either through their own development, or through acquisition. The stock has been on a steady upward trend since the deal was announced, but based on recent volume and online activity, and growing institutional investment, I believe it’s entering an accelerated bullish phase.

DD on APHA

I think it is time I make a DD post that has nothing to do with a meme stonk. I am unable to use emojis off my laptop so please excuse me for not having enough rocket ships but I promise you this rocket ship is fueling up and we are a couple months away from blast off if not sooner.
Why should you trust me?
I am an economics major with a concentration in entrepreneurship and a minor in sales. I love money more than hookers love blow and I intend on making a lot of money so I can afford the hookers that like blow. I go to a pretty prestigious university and I love how WallStreetBets can connect "smart" money with "autist" money. I am 100% all in on APHA with my entire life savings because as Warren Buffett would say, " "Diversification is a protection against ignorance," "[It] makes very little sense for those who know what they're doing." and I know what I am doing so I full sent it.

Why APHA?
They are conservative with their spending is what got me hooked first. Compared to other marijuana companies like ACB or Tilray, they aren't riddled with debt right off the back. (i'll get to the Tilray merger in a bit). This company has the cash on hand to purchase a MSO (multi-state operator) as soon as the US legalizes and my bet is that they are going to go for a MSO that has a heavy presence in Florida as the CFO stated in an AMA on reddit that Florida is where the market is, not California. The difference between APHA and any MSO or other LP is the fact that APHA merging with Tilray creates the first MCO or Multi-country operator. This means the company will be taking a piece of the cake from multiple cakes. You don't need to be #1 in America or Canada whenever you are directly engaged in multiple operations all over the world that increase your market share to be #1 worldwide.

With APHA and Tilray merging... which stonk do you buy? Easy, APHA.
The arbitrage play has APHA being changed to .83 of 1 Tilray share.
Currently tilray trades at 24.95 x 0.83 = 20.708
The current APHA price? 15.25.
This means that the gap has to close before the merger but is Tilray going to go down with all the pro marijuana news coming out? No, APHA has to go up to close the gap and today alone APHA is up 17.92% based on pro marijuana legalization news. BUT WAIT! Tilray is up 22.98% which means the GAP IS ONLY GETTING WIDER just like your wife's pussy after letting her 5 boyfriends have a turn since you've been so busy focusing on your GME stonk going down due to market manipulation.

The financials of APHA are strong, they FINALLY posted a profit of 0.01 EPS which may seem like little bitch shit but in reality most cannabis companies haven't hit profitability yet so they are ahead of the game. The one great thing about their financials is that Sweetwater Brewing wasn't factored into the earnings report which is AWESOME (Insert hellllaaa rocket emojis here). They are already turning a profit and THEN they are going to be adding more profits from a brewery that has strong revenue growth and turns a profit onto their balance sheet. While other companies have to figure out how to keep demand up after the holiday season, APHA has a raft to float on since Sweetwater provides a great level of float to the company. (I will post all relevant news articles at the end). The merge with Tilray makes this combined company a player in, Canada, Portugal, France, and then Sweetwater gives them US brand recognition. How does a beer company give US brand recognition? Look up the Sweetwater brand and you will see that this is a beer company for stoners and that is exactly what APHA needed. Right now the stock is stilling at $15 which is still relatively low, I can see this hitting anywhere from $50-75 EOY and like I said, I have my entire life savings in this stonk because I know the end of prohibition means the chance for the next Anheuser Busch which APHA is best positioned to become.
There's even more reasons to invest but I'm sure you get the point. This is going to be huge and if you're looking for a play in the marijuana sector this is your best option. Go on the weedstocks subreddit if you want even more verification or to see some alternative opinions. I made this post as a throwback to the good ole days to when WSB wasn't only about GME and AMC but also new emerging sectors. This is a great stock and I wouldn't have taken the time out of my busy schedule unless the time to blast off was fast approaching. Listen or don't I am gonna make tendies, I just want to share the wealth.

https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210121005247/en/SweetWater-Brewing-Company-Reaches-New-Heights-Launching-Statewide-in-Colorado-February-1
Sweetwater is actually a very big deal that is overlooked. They are expanding into more states which is simply creating a distribution chain for APHA/Tilray to distribute their product through. Imagine already having warehouses, sales reps, and shipping routes established before the US legalizes. APHA is going to be an MSO and MCO. The only thing that scares me is that democrats have said they don't want big companies coming in to sweep up market share whenever minorities have been directly impacted by the war on drugs. Could go both ways but Sweetwater provides somewhat of a foundation for the balance sheet and then the intrinsic value of the relationships/brand recognition that will already be established before any other LPs can get into the market will have APHA/Tilray the clear cut winner of the LPs. I strongly urge anyone that wants to get further into the marijuana investing space to visit the sub reddit Weedstocks rather than spamming WSB with these types of posts whenever their is a different sub dedicated to it. I have been a member of WSB and Weedstocks for over a year and both subs have their pros and cons.

First (budget) TB haul; AE mini reviews, giant FAILS and some extra rando finds cause its -35 outside so I'm shopping again

I've been shopping on AliEx for years but since finding this amazing (absolutely wallet destroying) community I dipped my toes in the repworld and tried out a TB haul. And Weidian, cause holy shit that place is awesome. 8kg through WeGoBuy GD-EMS to Canada and I don't even want to talk about how much that cost but it got here in 6 days. I'll leave out the hypewear (hi, fashionreps!) that I got for my kiddo, and we can all just quietly assume that I don't have anything left in my warehouse cause I learned my lesson with the triple digit shipping the first time.

First TB Haul
This Lulu gym bag $25 WTC *Its nice, functional, likely fantasy but I'm good with that.

Loewe puzzle small in Sand $83 WTC *SUPER happy with this for the price!! The leather is really stiff and has zero slouch yet. No fufu though! I can take more detailed pics if anyone is interested.

Prada re-edition 2005 $31 WTC *no one here in BFE even knows what Prada is so not worried about callouts. This one is pretty good for a super budget version IMO. I tried a $25 one from AE and it was hilariously bad. Buy this one instead.

Goyard Cardholder $7 WTC but don't bother *Meh. Treat yo-self to something better.

Dior Bee Earrings $9 WTC *Hell yeah I bought it for the packaging, fight me bro I'd do it again too. It has branded TISSUE PAPER and RIBBON and you bet I wrapped it up just so I could stare at it and then unwrap it again cause I deserve presents sometimes.

Chanel Pearl Earrings $9 WTC *Kinda disappointed that these weren't Dior, haha. But you know who isn't? My mom, who got gifted these and thinks I'm rich now.

Yeezy's for my kid $20 WTC *Umm hello $20 is cheaper than walmart and these are arguably better quality. Currently frozen solid on the deck where they have been banished for the forseeable future due to fufu.

Travis Scott Dunks for me $14 WTC *I like paisley, and these were cheap. Not bad for $14 but also banished to the frozen outdoors due to fufu.

Twillys $0.76 WTC *I told you this was a budget haul, what did you expect.

These acrylic cosmetic risers *way cheaper and lighter weight than the ones I got on amazon. I put them together upside down so they look like stairs and line up all my expensive (lies, mostly The Ordinary) skincare and makeup cause it looks fancier that way.

I also got some sterling clicker hoops WTC $6 a pair

So now for some Ali stuff that I already own! I have, no joke, 43 pages of purchases and repurchases, here are a couple of them.

ALIEXPRESS Stuff

Acne Scarf $18 WTC *this thing is enormous and some sort of weird alien fuzz material that is literally softer than my cats forbidden tummy fur. 8/10 I'm a little scared of it tbh.
Acne beanie $5 WTC *its ok.
CDG beanie $5 link dead. *its ok.
Fur pom hat $13 WTC *Shockingly, this is real fur. Its really nice.
VCA alhambra necklace, unbranded $15 link dead. *The rose gold plating is holding up fine, it looks good on. I'm going to upgrade this.
IPL at home laser hair removal *only had it a week no review yet
single use disposable ear piercing kit *so far I have added 4 total holes to my ears with these, both lobe and cartilage. They are tiny, cute, ball backing so easy to sleep on, no reaction or infection, 2 so far are healed beautifully. I take no responsibility if you decide to pierce your own ears at home with a $1 kit from China which is probably a bad idea. They are really easy to use, just saying.
This really pretty paint by number *Just finished it, probably gonna frame it.
New sheepskin insoles for your Uggs or mukluks *Gotta air out the fufu but they are nice otherwise
baby foot peel *Wear em for like 2 hours and your feet will shed like a snake in 3 days. So disgustingly satisfying. I give these for gifts to get people hooked and just to hear their reactions.
Browning hat *Awesome quality for the redneck in your life.
Rockstud sandals, unbranded *cheap and cute
Hollywood vanity lights so you can see clearly when you put on your magnetic lashes and liner. These are my lashes of choice and I wear them daily cause unlike the glue ones, these don't pull out your own lashes when you remove them.
Rude throw pillows * I gave "eat a bag of dicks" to my stepsister.
Engraved dog collar seriously its $6 and amazing quality, just buy it. or this one, or this banana one that I also got, and its also fabulous

And my one and only DHGate purchase - the Gucci Soho in pewter $145 WTC Even the packaging is luxe. This was worth every penny and I'm really cheap so this was a lot of pennies for me.

Ready for some FAILS?? I used to trawl the Facebook hidden link/rep groups before I knew better and made some regrettable purchases. No links as they constantly change.
LV Beauborg Hobo in White / AUTH This is a pretty terrible rep but honestly it is the softest leather I have ever touched, its like butter and I want to rub my face on it. Still gonna rock it cause why not.
Canada Goose Jacket / LOOK CLOSER. I feel personally attacked. This was supposed to be branded, and hilariously it has all the Canada Goose hang tags etc. I did get a refund on this one and will probably pick the badges off and donate it.

Now some finds for your cart filling dreams:
Marni Bucket Bag
This super extra Coach fur tote, probably fantasy but I want it so bad
super expensive Loewe mermaid tote
LV white cardholder wallet
Gucci Marmont cardholder
Miu Miu zip cardholder
Stone Island Backpack
This teal & orange Loewe Puzzle
This fantasy? Chanel bag that is sold out
Miu Miu pearl slippers
TNF snow mountain jacket
Salvatore Ferragamo fur slippers
Velvet lined mens joggers because why not
LV Keychain
Supreme Chicken Dinner Tee
Stylish Banana Vase
$3 squirrel jewelry container
Furry starfish bag charm
TIFFANY CHOPSTICKS
Pink VCA Alhambra necklace / Even Cheaper / Practically Free
tiny ass various stud and hoop earrings for your maria tash inspired curated ear

Last DD I wrote for WSB (Jan 12), added updates, but still think it's a good long play. My boy ERIC has proved me right and my positions are up over 50% since I first published, still see lots of room for tendies.

What up fart quaffers! I've got some truly mas puro retard shit for you guys to snort like a line of coarsely ground Adderall. So scooch your beanbags up and gather 'round my little dick strokers and bean flickers (see? I can be gender inclusive). Let's discuss why your uncle is more retarded than you and how you're gonna make money while he sends his social security checks to buy more tin foil.
First, let me say, if your illiterate ass isn't here for story time, just skip to the bottom. TL;DR and my positions are that'a'way.
So, by now many of you probably know that the 5G spectrums are up for auction. Verizon and T-Mobile (and to a lesser extent, AT&T -- because they is over-leveraged bitches) are gonna be throwing 90's money at it. Gonna make it rain like Jenna Jameson feature dancing at some vaporwave strip club in Tampa circa '97. Now, before you start jizzing all over your JNCO jeans, that's not the money we're after here. There's a bigger pot about to be busted out, and that, goons and goblins, is what we're aiming for.
You see, your Kool-aide drinking uncle is right about something: 5G is gonna be massive, and who the fuck cares if Bill gates is gonna use it to give us microchip suppositories while infecting us with the Rona. You'll live, and you'll make money while your uncle keeps shouting at clouds and chemtrails, poor and destitute. If only the bastard weren't as cruel as he is retarded, you might use those tendies to put him in a nice home for retards, somewhere warm, like Florida. He'd fit right in.
What's the difference between 4G and 5G? Fuck if I know, do I look like an electronics nerd? But I do know this: rather than building one big ass tower that covers a large area, 5G is gonna use a bunch of Christmas-tree sized towers and spread them over several city blocks. You hear that? What once was one tower, is now many. Is your retarded brain starting to piece this shit together? You know what you need to get all those towers and all that data talking to each other? Muthafucking switches. Yes, basically a shittier version of the router that's collecting dust while half-dangling off your desk. So, picture this, I'm sitting at the table in my crayon room, trying to force the square peg into the round hole, when I ask myself, "which cunt makes 5G switches?" Well, I put my big boy pants on and started looking at Chinese shit...emphasis on "shit".
You see, as a younger autist, I once lived in China. I even have a degree in their retarded ass laws (omfg, their constitution is such hot garbage, it's like someone put Trump tweets through a Communist formal language translator, seriously, if you're at all interested in law, go read it and laugh/weep) from one of their retarded universities. There are three facts that made me realize that China is not the answer to this.
1.) Chinese quality is fucking shit. I don't need no wumao apologists coming in here and telling me I'm wrong, because I'm not. Chinese craftsmanship is is like what you'd produce if I asked you personally to bake a 3-tiered cake, and then allowed you to frost it with Play-doh. Everything is about cutting corners and covering it up with plastic, it sucks. Look at Ze Germans, they're over there salting their pretzels with tears "because ze machine do not look sexy enough. Mutti whas rite, I am failure!" Meanwhile, in China, they're wiping their tears with fermented tofu because they can't put poison into powdered milk (you think I'm joking?!).
  1. Not only is Chinese quality fucking shit, it's riddled with goddamn spyware. You know who is not gonna be cool with putting up a bunch-of Christmas tree-sized Chinese spies on every rooftop? Hopefully fucking everybody (well, except Saudi Arabia, we all know they'll just pay China to have a seat at the peepshow.). But for real, President Xi has dramatically failed to engage in the world in good faith. His predecessors were able to build good will and investment opportunities with the West, but ever since Xi took over, he's been pissing in Cheerios. Indiscretions won't be waved away as "aww, look at that little shithole trying to pull itself up by the bootstraps" anymore. Nah, we saw what happened with Huawei, and we saw China nationalize Jack Ma's shit. It's gonna go more in this direction under Xi, and Chinese supply, especially as it relates to data and information tech is only gonna be favored by jackboot cum guzzlers.
  2. IT'S ALL FAKE GOVERNEMNT MANIPULATION. Let me tell you a story about my time in Poohland. You see, if you want to open your Retards'R'Us store in China, you gotta do the same bureaucratic bullshit like you do everywhere, file your paperwork and wait. But if you don't fucking offer a bribe, your ass is gonna go broke waiting. It's a goddamn institution. They got these stores, all they got inside is expensive whiskey and cartons of Marlboros that were made in 1987. No one ever buys from these stores because their prices are straight up ridiculous and who the fuck wants to smoke ciggies from back then, but yet, there they are. What purpose do they serve? Well, when you go turn in your business application, you swing by one of these stores, pick up a carton of Marlboros that Ronald Regan farted on and make your way to either a.) some dingy ass Soviet dystopia looking ass building or b.) some super fancy and slick building that's got welds so shitty it look's like they tried to do them with chopsticks. Either way, when you slide your application across the desk, slide that carton of Marlboros and whiskey too. You know what fuckface on the other side does with it? He goes right back to the goddamn store you were in 20 minutes ago and trades that shit for cash. You know what else happens? That store, and the thousands, if not millions, like it pump those numbers into the economic reports. Lord knows how much of their GDP is straight up due to corruption. I'm not even gonna begin to get into how the CCP manipulates markets and businesses, all you need to know is you can make a quick buck off Chinese shit, but ultimately, you're holding fake ass doo doo that "fell of the back of the truck".
Alright, so we veered a little off course there, but I say all that because I'm gonna make the case for my boy, ERIC. You see, ERIC is Swedish. Sweden isn't pissing in anyone's Cheerios, they're like the Canada of Europe. When you think Sweden, you think about a strange fascination with fermented fish, kinda creepy avant-garde movies, and fucking STACKED blonde bikini models. Take me to Valhalla, you Swedish valkyries...and sit on my face while you do it. Sweden is the guy at the rave dressed in khakis asking how your family is doing and making sure everyone gets home safely. Cool dude, skål! You know what you would trust this motherfucker to do? That's right you degenerates, you'd trust him to handle your fucking n00die pics. He won't judge, and he won't share. So let's go hang out with ERIC for a moment, he's got some meatballs and needs our help assembling flat-pack furniture.
You see, ERIC's been a busy lad. You old Millennials and young Gen-Xers might have even had a Sony-Ericcsson phone back when nobody knew what the fuck a Yu-Gi-Oh is. Sonny and ERIC dipped outta that scene when smartphones arrived and their bromance came to an end. But ERIC is a nerd for this shit. ERIC kept making comm tech when he wasn't too buys causing air traffic incidents with Surströmming. You know what his hard work got him? Fucking becoming a pioneer in 5G tech. As far as I'm aware, ERIC is the only muthafucka to have his shit on 4 continents (so far). ERIC got in this door early, and unlike that Chinese shit, it's good fucking quality and not trying to exploit you. Furthermore, EU is gonna love supporting one of their own, especially after Xi been pissing in Mama Merkel's Cheerios. America too is gonna start being more suspicious of China, we've seen it happen, but fucking ERIC? ERIC's cool man, he ain't pissing in our Cheerios, we ain't got beef with him handling data. Our drunk girlfriend tried to hook up with him, but he just took her to get some Mickey D's. Class fucking act, real stand-up dude.
But alright, we know ERIC is cool, and that he isn't gonna threaten to send our dick pic collection to our mamas. We know that ERIC has been making something that is about to be in high-demand, and that he is quite good at it. We also know he has been busy getting his product out across the world ahead of his competitors, and that his biggest competitors produce snitch-ass dogshit.
Yeah, just swiping through WSB Tinder, ERIC looking kinda juicy. Let's see what his bio says. Oh shit dawgs, are you seeing these charts? That steady growth. Look at how that sonuvabitch just shrugged off COVID and kept going all viking on his shit. Not only did ERIC shrug off COVID, he fucking feasted on it. Look at that jävel make his money. And what's this? The motherfucker is integrating automated drone corridors with his tech? He's raising his long-term EBITDA margins? He's out here acquiring businesses? Shit, that muthafucking Swede been a busy ass bee.
Now, you may be wondering, if ERIC is so great, what about NOK? And yeah, NOK isn't a terrible idea either, they also have some good news on their side and are a bit undervalued as well. If you wanted to take a bite of NOK, you probably won't get diarrhea, might even shit some gold. I dunno, I'm still looking into it, but I like ERIC better. [UPDATE: NOK did shit gold with the whole short squeeze fiasco, but has since fallen back to normal ranges and I stand by my evaluation of ERIC being the better long-term bet]
But here is the part I want you to really look at: the fucking call prices. Cheddar Cheesus of Wisconsin! That's some muthafucking value on a goddamn motherfucker leading the game! Goddamn Buddha going down on Shakira in the Alps! If you don't make money on this, you're fucking hopeless. [Update: call prices are still good for a long position, but getting pricier]
So yeah, there you have it, ERIC is the fucking man. He's got a good product, is ahead of the game in rolling it out, has geo-political tailwinds, solid and steady growth, and his only opposition is your retarded uncle and his looney-toons conspiracies. So this is the part where you tell him to go whistle on a dick because you're making money off the switches that ensure that the camgirl you've been simping for sees your little dick 150 miliseconds faster. 5G is coming, and someone's gotta make the hardware for it, why not ERIC?
*TL;DR Chinese shit is shit. ERIC is cool. You should give your money to ERIC*
*ERIC shares*
*ERIC Jan 2023 $12c*
P.S. I'm putting this at the bottom because I already know my inbox will be full of: "Is Jan 15 a good call date?" No motherfucker! The telecomms are still bidding on the spectrums. I have no fucking clue when they'll actually start putting up more goddamn towers, if I did, I sure as shit wouldn't be giving that info out for free. But I do know it won't happen over night. If you wanna be retarded, go play a meme stock, this shit is for autists. No rocket emojis here. So when is a good date for calls? Fuck if I know. Noticed I bought fucking leaps? Yeah, you might wanna do the same (they're dirt cheap), but I tend to think anything expiring in June-Sept and beyond is a safe bet. Totally your call based on your own risk tolerance.
Anyway, if you see my boy ERIC, just ignore the pungent smell of fermented fish.

*Fucking obvious disclaimer:* THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. YOU SHOULD NEVER INVEST MORE THAN YOU CAN SPARE TO LOSE. I AM NOT A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL ADVISER BUT I DO WEAR A HELMET WITH RAINBOW AND STAR STICKER. IT'S FUCKING SWEET.

'Friend' Fucks me on a bet.

I made a bet with my Q 'friend' 3 or 4 weeks ago. $50 that biden would become president on January 20th. He said okay sure. So yesterday he wasn't answering his phone but today he says to me:
"It was actually pre-recorded bud. The skies don't match up timewise. In the constitution you can't elect a president under military law. DC is the district of Columbia which is not part of the USA. The fence around the capitol has the locks on the outside, making it a territory of its own (foreign). The farewell speech had gold trim flags, he is transferring administration out of DC where the corporation was formed where it will gain power by Biden and be considered a hostile relationship between the state of an occupied territory and the occupying power which is the reason for the troops."
"Biden didn't take the oath. They left out, 'To protect and defend against all enemies foreign and Domestic and to bare true faith and allegiance to the same...'"
"Not to mention he was sworn in at 11:50 am while president Trump was still president."
Then there was a bunch of illuminati pictures saying that Biden's family Bible was an illuminati Bible. And then grainy pictures of the capitol beside pictures of the capitol from the press.
"See, not live. Can't swear in a president let alone one who rigged the election before the current one has finished his term at 12PM lol"
"Guess I won the bet after all eh? Man of your word? Sorry I needed a day to take it all in"
I am so fucking pissed. This is a guy who lives with his parents on ODSP (disability in Canada) because he has depression. But otherwise (before the pandemic anyways) a smart, stable (stable genius haha), hard working (he had a job) 28 year old guy, who is very healthy and reasonably fit. Now all he does is sit at home consuming the wildest conspiracies, getting $1400 a month from the government, complaining that other people shouldn't take handouts, complaining that the Canadian government 'gave free money' to people for quitting their jobs (because covid isn't real and jobs didn't disappear), and spent money on vaccines that 'kill people'. And he says he won't pay me, and that I actually need to pay him. Fuck I am so mad, I actually really could use the money.
Always moving the goalposts. I almost felt bad for him, because the Q people he hangs out with keep fucking him over, one actually accused him of raping her child - while he was in another city than them, now he is under investigation by the police, 2 have kicked him out after he moved in with them and they stole the rent he gave them. Other have tried to doxx him (but he doesn't have a job... so..). But he STILL is going along with it.

Attention Human Playerbase: This is your developer Xx_420BasedGOD_xX speaking. These are the patch notes for Outside's February 2021 build.

Heeeeey, guys! It's me, the Creator, your local developer, and all around fun guy... Xx_420BasedGOD_xX!
Sorry for the downtime over this past month! I've been pretty busy, as you might imagine, carefully observing the meta for the Earth region and trying to figure out how to balance and fix this shitstorm. As I mentioned in the previous patch notes, you humans have been finding way too many exploits and absolutely dominating all of Earth's servers. The USA, European, and Chinese servers, especially... the other species simply can't compete!
During the downtime since you last heard from me, I chatted with a bunch of the lower-tier builds prevalent in the Earth region, and came to the realization that you humans are so disgustingly good at Outside, I'm going to have to introduce hard, targeted nerfs just to cramp your viability.
Yes! Yes, I know. Nobody likes nerfs! Well, tough shit; no whining! Thanks to all the garbage 'features' Devilboi++SEXY++Satan threw in haphazardly, you've all become far too efficient at gaming the survival aspects of outside. Naturally, the most broken aspect of the human playerbase is your ability to efficiently farm consumables! I know the Ant playerbase can farm for loot from Aphids, but you humans are on a whole different level! You were NOT supposed to domesticate more than one other player class, yet that's exactly what you did! Horses, Cows, Dogs, Cats... you're not only turned these other players into mounts, but pets and consumable-farming factories too! The horrors I've seen unleashed upon the Pig and Chicken players alone are too awful to describe!
Oh and furthermore, who said you could dig up rocks and turn them into metal? Who said that was okay?! Not me! I'll bet Jesus//WaterIntoWine//Christ, that lazy little bastard... I'll bet this was his doing! Leave the rocks in the ground! Wait until the Reptilian species can harvest and mine! You're way ahead of the sentience timetables and it's starting to annoy me!
Okay, whew, give me a minute. Um, let's see, here are a list of changes I've made after consulting other players. Many of them expressed considerable discontent regarding the humans' position atop the meta, so I implemented a few adjustments, buffs, and other such tweaks to facilitate a broader playstyle.
...
Now, I'm sure a few Human players might complain that the buffing of other species cuts down on the Human players' ability to farm loot and level up, which, to be fair, is completely true! Haha, what can I say? You humans are simply WAY too numerous and prevalent, and thus must perish en-masse until I've managed to stabilize the Earth region's ecosystem!
So, there you have it! Now, I wanted to take a few minutes to answer some Human player questions from the last patch update I posted. Here goes nothing!
u/Thaeli: Oh good, he hasn't noticed the dev console those guys added.
What?! That's not a question! But seriously, I'll have to look into this at once. No accessing the dev commands! I swear to Me, if Devilboi++SEXY++Satan had anything to do with this exploit...
u/ZeroValkGhost: I do have questions about those mermaids, seeing as a coffin was mentioned. Are this plucky Private Jenkins merpeople like putting The Little Mermaid in a Monty Python army skit, or are these vampire merpeople like something out of Skaven, Lovecraft or The Frozen Throne?
MWAHAHA! They're terrifying mermen and women, with fishy tails, and big boobs, and other R-rated assets I can't mention or the Interdimensional Game Rating Society will start breathing down my neck! Just you wait and see, foolish Human!
u/Tooth-FilledVoid: Does NOBODY remember the 200 car pileup in canada?
I have no knowledge of that incident, nor do I admit to causing it deliberately!
u/potato_rocket_05: Yes. One change though: the super volcano should be Yellowstone
Impudent Human! How dare you correct ME, the Developer?! Learn your place! If I say it's Yellowstone, then it's Yellowstone!
u/ComradeH_VIE: Question: Will there be (randomized) military conflicts? Regional and skirmish levels only. I just want to know where (not) to level-up.
Of course! However, I cannot specifically say where they'll occur, but let me assure you that thanks to the changes and buffs I've given to the non-Human players, conflicts will break out all across the Earth Region, further cutting down on the Human playerbase, while also granting the survivors large EXP bonuses. Consider this part of my merciful nature!
u/SadSloth: I'm just waiting for the implementation of battle royale shrinking safe zone efffect for the global warming event.
I think I chose better area, than my guildmates in the last flooding event.
See? Why can't more Human players act like this? I love a good challenge junkie! It's no fun playing a game on easy with God Mode enabled! Unless it's my God Mode, of course, but that's... totally different!
u/Raubaton: What? Still no word on the release date for the ZombieApoc Questline?
I have to hold off on that until the Volgrim invasion event starts. Sorry, but I signed an NDA, so I can't release any distant-future content information unless the Interdimensional Game Creation Council gives me the green light! Even us Galactic Developers have rules to which we must adhere!
Alright, that's it for the Q&A segment! If you have any other questions for next month's patch notes, post them in the comments below! I hope you Humans love pain and misery, because plenty of it will soon come your way! Now, enjoy the great Spring Seasonal Event!
-Your Developer, Xx_420BasedGOD_xX
...
...
Sub-Developer Edit (Devilboi++SEXY++Satan): Hehe, stupid idiot doesn't realize the patch has to run past me before it goes live. No worries, human players. I'm not like Xx_420BasedGOD_xX! I'll give you all a little something to compensate for his general dickery. Besides, I'm ditching this shithole to work for (BIG_DICK_ASMODEUS) in a few patches.
Ahem. Seeing as Valentine's Day is here, for the month of February, all Humans will increase their copulation and pleasure ratings by 300%. Additionally, female-identifying players get a 600% stimulation bonus.
Don't say I never do anything for you! >:D

57 Non-Prog Albums for Prog Fans

Hi there again! You might remember my previous posts, including my tournaments, lists of songs and albums, etc. I’m really enjoying my exploration of tons of new music in a huge variety of genres, and I thought I’d make a list of recommendations specifically curated for the open-minded prog fan (hopefully, those exist!).
I picked some of my favorite albums I’ve discovered within the past couple years in many different genres that would especially appeal to you guys. I’ve definitely hinted at this in previous threads, but this time, I know the material a lot better – not just recommending based on one listen and only knowing a single album in a genre.
So here’s my list of non-prog (or borderline) albums that I think any prog fan would love. Pick any genre, and I bet you’ll find something amazing there. Italicized albums are especially recommended! (Yes, many of these are VERY popular, but there’s a good chance most people haven’t heard every one of them.)
Soul
Marvin Gaye—What’s Going On: Rolling Stone actually gets it right with this at #1 overall. Prog fans will love the perfect flow between songs and the super grand arrangements. Definitely a musical essential.
Stevie Wonder—Songs in the Key of Life: I mean, these songs are all perfect. You’ll love the dense grooves, and honestly, this is the one album that I cannot fathom a single person disliking.
Tyler, the Creator—Igor: moving to 2019, here’s an album with extremely detailed and complex production that’s popular, ambitious, and fantastic.
Janelle Monae—The ArchAndroid: ok, a neo-soul concept album about a messianic android in five suites WITH OVERTURES literally called Metropolis. Should be way more popular among prog fans imo. Brilliant pop songs.
Jazz
Fela Kuti—Expensive Shit: Fela pioneered the style of Afrobeat, which mixes Nigerian music with jazz-funk. Brilliant short album with two 10ish minute songs that’ll get you grooving. Definitely read the backstory of the title track.
Pharoah Sanders—Karma: unbelievable spiritual jazz album. At this point I’m just recommending my favorite jazz albums, because you definitely should check out the genre if you like prog, especially King Crimson.
Charles Mingus—The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady: the jazz masterpiece with the most complex and “proggy” composition, although it would be more accurate to say “Red” is the prog album with the most Mingus-y style.
John Coltrane—A Love Supreme: probably my favorite jazz album and certainly perfection.
The Comet Is Coming—Trust in the Lifeforce of the Deep Mystery: electronic space jazz fusion from 2019, courtesy of Shabaka Hutchings. One track sounds exactly like jazz “Starship Trooper,” and other has a brilliant spoken word passage on top of a speedy sax solo.
Indie
Joanna Newsom—Ys: masterpiece of modern progressive folk, once you get used to the vocals. The string arrangements are incredibly intricate.
Stereolab—Emperor Tomato Ketchup*,* Dots and Loops: chill yet harmonically complex band that blends noise rock, bossa nova, artsy indie pop, jazzy chord progressions, and French vocals into hypnotic bliss. Both of these albums are absolutely brilliant and should be mentioned here a lot more.
Sufjan Stevens—Illinois*,* The Age of Adz, Carrie and Lowell: in my opinion the best indie artist, Sufjan takes a different approach on each album. His masterpiece, Illinois, showcases a mixture of flashy progressive pop and melancholic indie folk – go listen to it now! The Age of Adz tackles pop songwriting with electronic overload and a 25 prog pop epic at the end, Impossible Soul. Carrie and Lowell features stripped down indie folk pieces and cuts at my heartstrings. Strongly, strongly recommend his work.
Sweet Trip—Velocity: Design: Comfort: shoegaze + glitchy electronic + indie pop, a great combination. They have a new album coming out this spring.
Pop
Shiina Ringo—Kalk Samen Kuri No Hana: combines the catchiest pop hooks with the craziest instrumentation and chord progressions. I cannot get enough of this album. It’s unbelievable.
Tears for Fears—The Seeds of Love: you know this album if you’ve ever watched a Steven Wilson interview. He’s totally right about it, brilliant.
Björk—Homogenic, Vespertine: I am absolutely obsessed with Björk’s music more than anything else in the world. Both of these are desert island discs for me. Her voice is just indescribable. Please listen!
Kate Bush—Hounds of Love: you’ve probably heard this mentioned as the greatest progressive pop album, and whoever said that has a point. The first half is loaded with pop bangers, and the second contains a prog-like medley that works just as well as the one on Abbey Road.
Talk Talk—Spirit of Eden, Laughing Stock: you might have seen Steven Wilson mention this 80’s experimental pop group. Super lush and ambient, yet profound. Called “post-rock” too, but I don’t like that genre title.
Sigur Ros—Agaetis Byrjun: ethereal Icelandic dream pop with gorgeous and emotive vocals from Jonsi. Absolutely one of my go-to comfort/emotional albums. Called “post-rock” too, but I don’t like that genre title (2).
“Experimental”/Metal/Post-Rock
John Zorn—Naked City: avant-garde jazz + grindcore punk makes for quite the entertaining experience. I’ve been meaning to check out “At the Mountains of Madness” too, which is apparently quite a gargantuan album.
Kayo Dot—Choirs of the Eye: I jokingly describe this album as “Avant-Garde Classical Ambient Doom Death Black Poetry Metal,” and yeah, that about sums it up. Not as heavy as the “Death Doom Black” section of that would suggest, but “The Manifold Curiosity” contains one of the most cathartic and powerful sections of music I have ever heard.
Agalloch—The Mantle: post-rock + (light) black metal + dark folk, for fans of Opeth. Despite the black metal tag, it’s not that heavy. I can actually sit through it and enjoy it, and the “worst” vocals feel almost like whispers.
Anna von Hausswolff—Dead Magic: she’s a talented organ player, but the real highlights here are her acrobatic vocals and astonishingly cathartic buildups. The 16 minute “Ugly and Vengeful” is beyond words.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor—Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven: The pinnacle of post-rock. While listening to Storm, I cannot believe humanity has created something so beautiful. And if you like 20 minute tracks, you’ve got four perfect ones here.
Alternative Rock
Radiohead—OK Computer, Kid A: Radiohead has a fair claim to the “best band of all time” label. These two diametrically opposed masterpieces both fall within my top 10 LPs ever. No music fan should miss them!
Muse—Origin of Symmetry: the more theatrical version of Radiohead can sometimes be too much for me, but several songs such as the gripping opener “New Born” always blow me away.
Mr. Bungle—California: Absolutely no idea why this isn’t considered progressive rock. The peak of crazy genre-switching intermixed with great ballads like “Retrovertigo.” Particularly, any early Haken fan that wants less Dream Theater influence needs this record (I know, specific, but it applies to me, soooooo…).
Kairon; IRSE!—Polysomn: psychedelic rock + post-rock + shoegaze with a little hint of prog. It’s euphoric, and they’re possibly my artist of the decade!
Jeff Buckley—Grace: classic singer-songwriter album with some complex chord progressions. The title track is one of my all-time favorite songs, and Buckley gives a vocal performance to die for.
Classic Rock
The Zombies—Odessey and Oracle: beautiful harmonies, would be surprised if Yes did not love this record.
The Beatles—Abbey Road: I mean, you know this already, right?
Led Zeppelin—Houses of the Holy: same here, any Zeppelin is great, but here’s the best for a prog fan.
David Bowie—Blackstar, Low: my two favorite Bowie albums might convince you if Ziggy Stardust was too in-your-face. (I love TRAFOZSATSFM, what an acronym.) Both are absolutely brilliant.
Electronic
Flying Lotus—Cosmogramma: vibrant, colorful, maximalist electronic from FlyLo. Absolutely no idea why Tangerine Dream is considered progressive electronic and this masterpiece isn’t. I guess this has more to do with jazz?
Ulver—Perdition City: a former black metal band dives into sizzling trip-hop that could score a Batman movie.
Aphex Twin—Drukqs: you want complex? You got it! How could a human program that shit?
Boards of Canada—Geogaddi: haunting, nostalgic IDM (“intelligent dance music,” possibly the snobbiest genre name this side of “progressive rock”). Perhaps the greatest study album.
Tim Hecker—Virgins: my favorite ambient record. The grandness of “Dark Side of the Moon,” but instrumental.
Hip-Hop
Kendrick Lamar—To Pimp a Butterfly: probably the greatest hip-hop album ever, I know that’s a basic opinion. The jazzy instrumentals combined with great lyrics form a very profound record. Add Thundercat on bass, Kamasi Washington on sax, and Flying Lotus handling arrangements, you’ve got a masterpiece. Best intro to hip-hop.
Digable Planets—Blowout Comb: great jazz rap album.
Madvillain—Madvillainy: MF DOOM and Madlib create brilliant music through short snippets and sample-filled verses. Spot the Gentle Giant sample – it’s actually super cool in a rap context. “Supervillain Theme” is my favorite sub 1-minute song ever, possibly.
Death Grips—The Powers That B: especially Disc 1, with its ‘chopped-and-screwed’ Björk samples. This is absolutely the closest hip-hop has gotten to being “progressive” in the prog rock sense, even as it’s obviously progressive in many other ways. Surreal, glitchy, complex, somehow catchy, and addictive. Check this out even if you tried “The Money Store” and didn’t like it – that’s how I got into them.
DJ Shadow—Endtroducing…: this record is made ENTIRELY out of samples, literally piecing together passages from thousands of other records over years to create a jazzy, psychedelic masterpiece of instrumental hip-hop. A completely new way to make music… that’s the most progressive thing.
Massive Attack—Mezzanine: instead of the “Rage Against the Machine” style of rapping over rock instrumentation, Mezzanine features lush hip-hop beats but mostly melodic pop or rock songs over the top. But where this masterpiece of trip-hop really gets going is the heavy guitar driven climaxes of “Angel,” “Dissolved Girl,” and “Group Four.” A very good entry point to hip-hop, because it’s really only halfway there.
Punk/Post-Punk/Math Rock (“Pronk”)
Talking Heads—Remain in Light: I’m not a massive fan of post-punk, but the thick, detailed grooves of the Heads always hit the spot. The first half of this album is perfect. Featuring a couple Adrian Belew solos!
Hella—Hold Your Horse Is: best math rock album, I think. Insane drumming and stellar tappy twinkly guitar playing.
Don Caballero—What Burns Never Returns: another great math rock album. You’ll get the idea of the genre from these two albums. Most math rock releases sound the same as each other, but they’re all quite good!
black midi—Schlagenheim: the next big prog (adjacent) band to watch. If you want a fresh take on 80s King Crimson, look no further. 953 is electrifying, and the frontman (Geordie Greep) is totally bonkers.
Slint—Spiderland: insanely influential 1991 album that spawned a million different genres like post-rock and math rock. The spoken word vocals and sudden time changes create an atmosphere of paranoia. Great lyrics, too.
Glenn Branca—The Ascension: very unique album, composed like a symphony but using an atonal punk aesthetic to get the point across. I’ve seen the album described as the musical equivalent of anxiety, and yeah, that’s pretty accurate. The buildups foreshadow post-rock, too.
TL;DR 10 Albums to Get You Into Non-Prog (chronological order):
  1. Charles Mingus—The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady (Avant-Garde Jazz)
  2. Marvin Gaye—What’s Going On (Soul)
  3. Talking Heads—Remain in Light (Post-Punk/New Wave)
  4. DJ Shadow—Endtroducing… (Instrumental Hip-Hop/Plunderphonics)
  5. Björk—Homogenic (Art Pop)
  6. Godspeed You! Black Emperor—Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven (Experimental/Post-Rock)
  7. Shiina Ringo—Kalk Samen Kuri No Hana (Experimental Art Pop)
  8. Sufjan Stevens—Illinois (Symphonic Indie Pop/Indie Folk)
  9. Flying Lotus—Cosmogramma (Electronic/Jazz Fusion)
  10. Kendrick Lamar—To Pimp A Butterfly (Jazz Rap)
I didn’t include OK Computer, Kid A, Abbey Road, and Blackstar because I think most people would have heard those before. If you haven’t, they absolutely qualify here!
I hope you love whichever albums you try!
Edit: u/CommunistOrc had such a great comment that I'd like to copy/paste it here for you all!
Wow. Incredible list, tons of amazing albums from a diverse range of genres. For anyone who likes some of these albums, but wants more from the same artists, I'll compile a list of other, maybe less popular albums from some of the same artists that I think are just as worth checking out:
Pharoah Sanders - Black Unity: This is the spiritual free jazz from Karma taken to a groovier, more experimental dimension, with two dueling bassists playing one of the best basslines of all time. It slowly escalates to the point of chaos, but is always stunningly fascinating.
John Coltrane - The Olatunji Concert: While this isn't my favorite Trane album, it's damn close, and what it lacks compared to Live in Japan's scale, it makes up for it raw aggression, and emotion. This was three months before he died, and he was suffering from liver cancer. The pain in his playing is evident, a man breathing his pain out through his saxophone, creating some of the most emotionally and spiritually intense music ever recorded. The recording quality gives it an even more raw edge, that makes this my second favorite jazz album of all time.
Sweet Trip - You Will Never Know Why: This album dials it back from VDC's glitchy shoegazey IDM, to a more electronic indie pop sort of zone. This album has some of the best songwriting of all time I feel, with so many bangers it should be illegal. Highly recommended for Sweet Trip fans, or for those who thought VDC was a bit much, either in length, or sound.
Mark Hollis - s/t: Mark Hollis (singer, songwriter, and frontman of Talk Talk) released one solo album, that carries on in the same vein as Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, but even more sparse, and bleak. I find this to be a wonderful listen, essential for Talk Talk fans.
Electric Masada - At The Mountains of Madness: This double CD live album from Electric Masada, led by John Zorn, is avant-garde jazz fusion, strongly influenced also by both metal and klezmer. Yeah, very wild combination of styles, and it's an equally wild listen. Comparisons to Bitches Brew are common here, and while they are certainly different sounding albums, they are similar in terms of revolutionary genre fusion, and massive scope. Recommended for fusion fans, especially those who like Bitches Brew.
GY!BE - F#A#∞: GY!BE's first album (All Lights Fucked doesn't count) is their quietest, and most interesting to me. The heavy use of samples and spoken word create an atmosphere of dreading, and the instrumentals are simply breathtaking. Like watching the immediate aftermath of an apocalyptic cataclysmic event.
Kairon; IRSE! - Ujubasajuba: Not a ton to say here, just really good shoegaze. Gnarly guitar tones, a definite must listen for any shoegaze fan, though not a good entry point to the genre (Loveless and Souvlaki are better)
Freddie Gibbs and Madlib - Pinata: Madlib provides some of the best beats of his career here, rivaling his work on Madvillainy, but I tend to prefer Gibbs as a rapper to MF DOOM. Heresy, I know. DOOM is amazing at what he does, I just don't enjoy what he does a ton. Anyway, this album is one of the best hip-hop albums of the 2010s, and is required listening for any Madvillainy fan.
Glenn Branca - The Third Ascension: This takes the totalist nightmare of The Ascension and turns it up to 11. This is the soundtrack of hell being unleashed into our mortal realm. One of my friends once described this album as "Glenn Branca detonating a nuclear bomb on your head, instantly killing you," and I find that apt. The first 30 seconds of Cold Thing are some of the most intimidating, downright terrifying music I've ever heard. The kind of music that activates your fight or flight response.
Finally, this isn't related to any album on OP's list, but The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2 is my favorite album of all time, and something I think any music lover should give a go at least once. Ideally more than once, since it is a grower I think. The songwriting is stunningly beautiful, or mysteriously hypnotic, or catchy, or noisy and furious, and more. The variety on display in this indie folk / rock album is immense. The amount of ground it covers in its 20 song, hour long runtime is massive, but it never feels like too much. Furthermore, the production is immaculate, with so many layers and details that I think I've noticed something new on literally every listen. The emotional attachment I have to this album is massive, but even putting that aside, I still think it's a basically perfect album. If you only listen to one album from this comment, make it this one.
Edit 2: u/boredop made another great comment that I'd like to add in!
A few things from the jazz/funk/soul side of the universe:
I gotta say, I am always surprised when I meet someone who is into prog but not jazz. They seem like such obvious bedfellows to me. Jazz at its best has everything prog fans love - virtuosity, rhythmic complexity, intricate compositions, usually with the added bonus of swinging like crazy.
