Watchman's Pub just posted a statement on facebook

For those who don't have facebook:
To our loyal customers and Calgary public, we would like to explain our decision for remaining open yesterday, after the address from Jason Kenney.
We truly believed that we were adhering to the guidelines that had been issued for sit down restaurants, as per our business licence (what we failed to understand at the time was that this was only for establishments which allow minors).
We made absolutely certain that at no time was there ever more than 50 people (including staff) in our establishment. We do have extensive camera coverage that can dispel any unfounded allegations of exceeding capacity and any libellous claims will be taken very seriously.
We, like the majority of the country, are trying to do the best for not only our customers but our staff alike, while remaining fully compliant with any recommendations.
We did have a visit from Occupational Health & Safety at about 4:30 and after a few minutes discussion they left with no mention that we should not be open.
We would like to advise that we did NOT receive a visit from the Police and it was our decision, based on AGLC visiting another location. They also advised that they had talked to multiple establishments that evening who had also misinterpreted the new guidelines. Based on this information we promptly closed our doors. We do realise that we unintentionally made an honest mistake in remaining open, and we rectified this as soon as possible.
We have, today, been granted a temporary liquor license which will allow minors into our location. All VLT’s in Alberta have currently been disabled by the Alberta government. At this time we have made the decision to remain CLOSED. We want this outbreak to be contained and for everyone to remain safe and well.
We truly are sorry that we caused any stress or concern to anyone by our misunderstanding. We would like to thank all our staff for their loyal support and understanding in these unprecedented times.
We wish everyone and their families good health and we look forward to welcoming you back once it is safe to do so.
