10 under-discussed things that make Cyberpunk 2077 an incredible game (x-posted from the other sub)

Consensus on Reddit about 2077 seems to be that certain features are great (graphics, art design, music, and for most people at least, NPC dialogue and storyline writing) but that most of the gameplay and open world itself is poor-to-mediocre, unimmersive and half-baked. While I recognize the game definitely has issues (especially on console), I pretty strongly disagree, and I think the game has a ton of incredibly smart, well-designed, and genuinely groundbreaking features, and I wanted to put together a list of some of the really cool parts of the game I don't see getting much attention.
  1. Combat. Perhaps least-controversially, in my opinion, combat in this game is amazing. There are so many great features it's hard to list them all; on the netrunning side, my favorite has to be installing a weapon glitch daemon. Every time an enemy notices you, they pull out their gun, aim, pull the trigger... and nothing happens (or the gun explodes in their hands, with a higher level quickhack). Listening to them swear and scrabble around for a backup pistol is gold. Taking over a camera network and picking off an entire building with the suicide quickhack is about as pure a cyberpunk power fantasy as I can imagine. Tossing a flashbang into a group of enemies and then picking them off with three consecutive headshots feels pretty cool; much cooler is waiting for one of them to throw a grenade at you, then shooting it out of the air so it explodes in their face (smart weapons make this really easy). Or you can go entirely down the reflexes/Sandevistan path, leading to gameplay like this or this.
  2. Immersion in the setting. I know not everyone feels this way, but for me, driving slowly through Japantown in the driving rain, watching the neon-soaked puddles form on the ashpalt as Delicate Weapon plays on the radio, is about as close to feeling like I'm in a fictional world as I've ever experienced. Also, just realizing how much the devs thought of and included to flesh out the world — has anyone tried calling Jackie's phone after he dies? Such a authentic-feeling, touching moment, and so well-written.
  3. World coherence. So many little details tie the world together, and even the gigs you expect to be throwaways pop back up in unexpected ways. For example, in Clouds during the mission Automatic Love, you find an e-mail from Jotaro Shobo asking for more dolls to use in his club. I was trying to remember why the name sounded familiar, and then I remembered — he was the sadistic pimp you took out during the gig Monster Hunt. What's more, if you did that gig before talking to>! the pimp at Clouds (Woodman)!<, you even get a unique dialogue option to persuade him — "want to end up like Jotoro Shobo?" Stuff like this comes up constantly throughout the game, making even those 'question mark' activities feel like they're part of the same world and tying the entire experience together. This even extends to the loot and combat — anyone who used the free Tyger Claws smartlink from Wakako, and then realizes none of their smart guns will work against Tyger Claws, knows what I mean.
  4. World reactivity. Similarly, the way NPCs keep popping back up, even from small throwaway jobs, makes the world feel so much more real. I rescued the monk in Sacrum/Profanum, and randomly ran into him and his brother in Japantown hours later. We had an entire dialogue about whether a construct like Silverhand was a real, sentient person and whether they might reincarnate according to Buddhism. No quest marker, nothing planned, just heard someone call out 'hey, it's you - thank you!' on my way to the ripperdoc. Similarly, even random NPCs in small gigs react to choices you've made in other missions and quests - one very brief interaction went totally differently the second time I played through it. Two thugs who had attacked and killed me the first time I did a small gig were about to go after me, but this time as one pulled out his gun, the other recognized me: "oh shit, it's that merc; do you even know how many bodies he's dropped?" and both ran away.
  5. Player freedom. The single biggest example for me: I'm still not over a mission where you fall through a crumbling floor,>! leaving an NPC to die at the hands of incoming Arasaka goons.!< I had a brainflash, used double-jump to climb back up from the hole in the ceiling,>! and found him fighting a couple troopers - I killed them and together we fought our way out of the building through waves of incoming troops!<, leading to one of the hardest and most exciting combat missions I've ever played (mostly because you're fighting through narrow hallways against enemies from multiple directions). And the rest of the game was different as a result!
  6. NPC interactivity/dialogue. I don't think I've ever played a game where, after you finish a conversation with a key NPC, as you're walking away they call out 'hey, come back for a second,' and you can go back to continue the conversations (or not, if you don't want to). Those little organic touches make conversations feel so much more real; even small NPCs react to what you do while they're talking to you. One gig saw me held at gunpoint by a twitchy PTSD-ridden veteran, and moving too much would lead to him seamlessly breaking off his dialogue to shout "I said freeze!" before the conversation resumed. None of this stuff is inherently groundbreaking, but it's all executed to so seamlessly and believably that it feels more like a real interaction with real people than probably any RPG I've played before. And of course the body language and facial expressions contribute a ton to that, as well.
  7. Mission design. So many of the gigs are really cool and unique, even leaving the full side missions aside; trying to sneak an asset out of a motel when two cars full of gangoons pulled up looking for him was such a cool moment. The gigs also react to your choices - the mission to kill Jotaro totally changes if you knock him out instead, and it becomes a challenge to carry his unconscious body out to a waiting car without getting detected. On the same note, so many of these gigs have hidden paths available through rooftops or exterior balconies; I'll never forget the moment where I figured out I could break a glass window in order to get out onto the balcony of a skyscraper penthouse, double-jump onto the roof, and bypass the security of an entire level. One weakness here, I think, is that if you just approach every side mission with a frontal assault, they start to feel pretty repetitive - and once you get strong enough, it's a little too easy to just shoot your way out of every situation - but if you choose not to play that way, they really do start to feel unique and exciting. Also, one other note - the level design became approximately 250% more interesting after I got double-jump.
  8. Interiors. On that note, can anyone else remember a game with this many unique interior spaces? It's almost a cliche that every open world game ends up having most of their missions take place entirely outside (maybe with the exception of main story content), because it's so time-consuming to make unique feeling interior spaces. But in this game, at least half the gigs feature an entirely unique-feeling inside space, from penthouse apartments to seedy motels to corporate offices. And most of them are really thoughtfully designed, too, with multiple routes through and often full of NPCs having unique conversations to eavesdrop on.
  9. The apartment arsenal. I mean, it's just cool watching the gun wall fill up with the unique guns you acquire as you go. I agree that the apartment is underused, but this is definitely satisfying for my magpie-like tendencies.
  10. Performance. OK, this one is going to be controversial, but for me... performance has been incredible for a game that looks this good. Rock solid 60 fps with all settings maxed and raytracing on psycho, though I'm playing at 1080p. I have a pretty good system, but not a 3000-series card (GTX 2080ti and i7 i9-9900k), and I've had maybe 2-3 noticeable bugs (the worst being one where subtitles would get stuck at the bottom of my screen, which got patched yesterday), but yeah.... really solid performance overall. I know that's not the case for everyone, and I'm not trying to dismiss anyone else's experience — it just hasn't been mine. Honestly, I had more bugs in Skyrim.
Lastly, on a purely personal note, it feels like a lot of the complaints people have are about how the game isn't an open-world sandbox like GTA or RDR2 - but as far as I can tell, it's not trying to be. It's trying to be an open-world RPG, like the Witcher, in a sci-fi urban setting, and in my opinion, it pulls that off incredibly well.
Sure, stuff like the police don't work well, but honestly... I think I aggro'd the police once in the last 50 hours, by accident, and I just ran away until they stopped chasing me. I don't remember a particularly deep wanted system in Novigrad or Skyrim, either, is my point; similarly, I'm not sure why people expected or particularly wanted features like gambling or dynamic body changes from working out at a gym (and I really don't get why those features seems so important to so many people).
If 2077 isn't the game you were looking for, that's totally fair, but I just don't agree that means it's a bad game — it's just not the one you wanted.

Unpopular opinion: Online should be advanced to 1911-1914

Unpopular opinion: Online should be advanced to 1911-1914
Okay, we are done with clickbait title and can start to talk now. Soo, why would I think that online needs to be advanced? Short answer Mexico, Buildings, Economy, and longer answer well, its more complicated.
First of all I think it would be really wise for Rockstar and TakeTwo to release Red Dead Redemption 1 Remake on RDR2 engine, most of the work with New Austin and Blackwater area are already done, its all just needs a bit refreshing( Well, in terms of tumbleweed more like a burial ), It could be done as standalone or as big DLC to RDR2 ( Specially since a lot of people asking for a remake, also PC never got first game ). This way we would get a RDR Online that's " up to date " with a Remake and will utilize complete RDR world map. Also as a bonus RDR map of 1911-1914 map has more buildings and most importantly ranches. Lets be honest, they would never add new ranches to 1898 map, just for them " magically " go out of existence in 1899 map and 1907 epilogue. ( Even GTA did not do that and advanced their timeline up to date with all new content updates ).
Few examples of added buildings in epilogue 1907 ( Credit to Noru122 yt channel )

With bunch of small houses, changes within whole map. Doubt all of that should be " ignored " and not used by players.
Lets now speak of heists, bunch of people at least. Well, lets think from TakeTwo perspective, why would you add heists if your players are not spending their money/gold? Look, there nothing expensive to buy, a lot of players are sitting on hundreds of thousands of cash, hundreds of gold even now. How they gonna encourage people to buy gold bars if they have a stockpile now? ( Yes, all these nerfs to income for cash and gold are directly were aimed at new players ) And for old players, how we gonna be asked spend them? What they gonna add? A pair of jeans for 5000 dollars? An horse for 300 gold? Or its going to be like in GTA Online, where car performs same way as old car for 20-50k but now costs 1-2 million. They need bigger window for implementation of content, " cage " of being set 1 year before singleplayer is choking potential to add anything major, since it will be illogical to exist a year before and then vanish without a trace. Game needs money sinks before economy will get completely destroyed.
Like I already said, even epilogue adds new buildings in free roam, which means more variety to be utilized for content, also after main events so places are now vacant or unused, they can also be utilized. Second, why not use ideas of GTA Online that work? ( For incoming jokes of Mk2 Oppressors, yeah-yeah you are unique and completely fresh ). Example would be yacht, in GTA its mosty flex unit and has no practicality, but it serves a good money dump, so why not add, lets say
https://preview.redd.it/iuz2nuhllnb61.png?width=1800&format=png&auto=webp&s=6b010d2e7fef30e7a52701f28c5eed04b259ad9a
It would be basically copy-paste idea of GTA, but in future maybe we could be " expansion " for it, like done some inner area into planning room to stage a heist on Guarma, since there was basically a war, its a good opportunity to rob the place.
What else?
https://preview.redd.it/zvt53ra3mnb61.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=994295152a07870084dd87d138b7fbbee60b33c3
Remember this guys? Why not utilize them in same way GTA had import/export warehouse? Basically we invest in them and buy a property where we could do a " requested " collection or separate number of horses, stagecoaches and etc to steal, store and sale. Maybe expansion for moonshiner where we could buy our own saloon with illegal poker, blackjack tables? Maybe counterfeit cash business? Tabaco production? Wagon upgrades as more/better horses, adding new wheels and etc? Even more customization for everything including ranches and houses, mansions. Maybe same approach as GTA casino penthouse, where you buy separate rooms and spend ton of cash for individual items to decorate. Copying GTA ideas is not bad, if done correctly and taken only good ones, while leaving crazy stuff aside.
There are so many things that could be added if the game did not have those shackles on " pre epilogue " map.
( And for love of everything that is holy, Blackwater NEEDs a gunsmith ) END ------------------- --------------------- --------------------- --------------------- ---------------------

Solo glitch/ exploit I guess

Edit: Video to help explain: https://youtu.be/b51ixKZeJUA
Using the outfit force save* you can use the diamond slots machine to slowly work up money, when you hit your first big jack pot use the force save and continue to hit the machine at full bet - likewise if you run out of chips, do the glitch :: it has made me 4mil in about 20 mins (I continued for another hour but didn’t have much luck) I also started tallying my results for the odds and how often you should expect a decent payout**.
** 2 big wins (3 of a kinds) 66 small wins (getting one or two diamonds) 320 losses (no match or single diamonds) and 0 jackpots (3 triple diamonds) - however I did get a jackpot approx 400-800 spins before I started the tally
Therefore (approximately): you get a decent win every 160 spins.
Thank you if you read all that lol - I did kinda go on and I hope you go make millions!
Edit: once you have about 700k, it may be useful to use this on the horse races by betting on an unlikely horse until you win or lose everything.

Cayo Perico Heist Guide (Edited)

Cayo Perico Heist Guide (Edited)
PRESS START<
Hey everyone since the update in GTA this newest heist has been the most profitable and easiest way to make money. So I wanted to create a guide to help others master this heist, and to help those who are struggling with it.
Note: This guide is for new players, first timers, and anyone who is struggling to complete this heist. Please use this as reference to deepen your understanding of the heist. If you have a better strat, more power to you. This however is my strat, criticism is welcome.
So to begin, you will have to buy the Kosatka (submarine), which is located on warstock for 2.2mil. It also has upgrades you can buy but the most noteworthy upgrade is definitely the Sparrow upgrade (1.8mil) this upgrade will make traveling back and forth much easier since your sub is located in the sea.
Noteworthy things about sub:
  • If you hover above your sub with a sparrow you can instantly enter it.
  • You can get free snacks at the cafeteria
  • You can fast travel; if you never completed the heist its 10k, after completion its 2k
  • Your toreador vehicle can enter through the bottom
  • You can call dingy if you can not afford the sparrow
After you get the sub you’ll be introduced to characters and will have to go to LSIA, where you will travel to Cayo Perico, after you arrive everything henceforth is pretty straightforward. After you escape the party you will have to enter the main island through the checkpoint ( Google Boom Gate), PLEASE DO NOT SWIM AROUND THE ISLAND. You will waste so much time doing so, just run through the gated door next to the checkpoint and avoid entering enemy cones, watch for vehicles and watchtower cones. The biggest things to scope out are the infiltration points and exfil points; the airport strip is already marked, the biggest point to scope out after you hack the cameras is the drainage tunnel. This will require swimming, the drainage tunnel is located on the coast of El Rubio’s compound you can dive and find it, Pavel will give you a vocal cue when you find it. When you are looking through cameras after hacking make sure to cycle through every camera, turning to find secondary points, stop until you get back to the Panther Cage. Don’t bother scoping anything else like bolt cutter’s or grappling hooks, because you will not need them. I added a map of Cayo Perico to show where everything is, please note that there are many ways to do this heist this is just my way of doing so. After you found the drainage tunnel and finished your objective, get caught and make your way to the airport strip to leave. Also note there are different Primary targets the first time will always be the files the second will vary, look in the tips for scoping out to see the rankings.

Credit to Sportskeeda
Tips for Scoping out
  • On your second time doing the heist you will start at the air strip. There are 2 dirt bikes located at the strip one by the entrance to the strip and one by the solar panels next to the power station. You can take the bikes and drive up and over the checkpoint to get to the communications tower faster. At the checkpoint to the left there's a little stone wall in front of the guards tower. You can drive the bike up the ledge and get over it, for a quicker way you can also drive the bike up the ledge a little bit in front of the wall to also get over.
  • If you solo, scope out any important secondary point. There's a secondary point in the airstrip hangar, at the entrance of the hangar look right to see the box you can climb, use this to get to the second floor to get the secondary point. (To clarify check the targets spawns and only mark coke and weed; do not mark weed at the strip and north dock only coke, mark weed at the main dock)
  • When you are heading to the communications tower to hack, pay attention to the guard, if there is a guard, the box is located up the tower, if there is no guard it's on ground level.
  • You can kill yourself or get caught to go back to the airstrip.
  • You can also poison the guards water supply to weaken them but unless you're going aggressive don’t bother.
  • There are boats out in water you can steal but I would only do this to scope out the drainage tunnel the first time.
  • You only need to scope infiltration points and exfils points once, secondary targets and tools must be scoped out every time.
  • Secondary targets and tools are RNG based so if you're looking for tool and it’s not there it’s because of RNG
  • Secondary Targets Rank: Gold>Cocaine>Paintings>Weed>Cash
  • These also will fill your bag different
  • Gold=66% Cocaine=50% Paintings=50% Weed=37.5% Cash=25%
  • The price for secondary targets are RNG based but Gold, cocaine, and Paintings have the most value
  • Secondary Targets Values are RNG based.
  • Gold=332k, Cocaine=220k, Paintings=189k, Weed=147k, Cash=80k-90kCredit goes to u/FMT_WL1
  • Primary Targets Ranked: Panther Statue 1.9M>Pink Diamond 1.4M> Bearer Bonds 1.1M> Ruby necklace 1M> Tequila 900k
Preps
In order to start the heist you must do preps, for this heist you can do however many you want but for this guide you will only need to do 5. Keep your sub in Los Santos until the fifth prep mission, if you decide to do the longfin prep you can keep your sub at Los Santos.
Prep 1/ The Cutting Torch:
This prep mission is pretty straightforward, head to the construction site and land close enough. Before heading in, try to locate the yellow hard hat and put it on, this will make the enemy non-hostile, which makes for an easy mission. Your job is to locate the torch in a tool box. You can find it by looking in the box, it's a blue torch, search the box and head back to your sub. Also when searching for the box try to avoid staying in the enemy cones for too long and bumping into workers because this will make the enemies hostile if you do these.
Prep 2/ Safe Code or Plasma Cutter
There are two missions. The mission will vary on your primary, if you have the bearer bonds it’s the safe code, anything else it’s the Plasma Torch.
Safe Code Mission: Head to the casino at the entrance, after entering turn left and enter the elevator (if you have a penthouse you can go up without entering the parking garage). You will have to find a car in the parking garage. It's a yellow cheap car, it never changes. After finding it you will get the card which will allow you to head up into the penthouses, after getting up there search for two guards and head shot with a suppressed weapon. If done right you will calmly walk into the apartment, you can then search the penthouse for the target, he will never change. It's a guy with a cowboy hat, kill him and leave the penthouse, you will have to fight your way out. If you slam into the entrance of the penthouse you will have to fight your way in. After getting the code get back to your sub.
Plasma Cutter Mission: This is pretty straightforward, for ease take your oppressor instead of your Sparrow for higher mobility. You will have to head to the office to get the plasma cutter, but it’s not there. Pavel will instruct you to find the board and take a picture of it, the board is easy to find. Afterwards he will locate them and ping it on your map, they usually always spawn near Vinewood hills or the beach. Take them out with your oppressor missiles and fly over the bag and leave cause they will spawn two cars to shoot you.
Prep 3/ Fingerprint Cloner: This mission is simple, you will have to head to a location on your map, outside are two cameras, ignore them and walk into the garage, after entering take cover behind the box forward and blind shot everyone with your shotgun. After the enemies are dead hack the laptop in the back and head to the archives. Outside the archives are cameras, shoot them and go inside. Pavel will tell you that you're looking for a small card, it always spawns in the back in the desk square, grab it and head back.
Prep 4/ Weapon Load out: Always buy the suppressors, as for which load out I suggest the Conspirator due to the sticky bombs (there is a bug where you will get suppressors without buying them, just in case purchase it to be safe). There are two possible missions you can be given. One is in Los Santos in an office, for the other you will have to follow a Valkyrie up North.
Weapons Possible Mission 1: Pavel will send you to an office in Los Santos you can either go through the ground entrance or the roof, I suggest the roof entrance but no matter what you will have to fight inside. Once inside clear the office and head to the back to find the gun safe, it’s always located left of the desk on the wall, hack the laptop on the desk and open the safe. Grab the weapons and leave. If you enter on the roof you can fly back but two chopper’s will spawn, shoot their gunman on the sides and hellies will be useless. Another suggestion is to leave immediately, and snack up to restore health. On ground level the hellies will still spawn again shoot the gunman and head back to the sub.
Weapons Possible Mission 2: You will have to head to Elysian Island to find the Valkyrie you do not need to stay close to it. You can predict it’s direction and head North to clear the camp on foot, also avoid destroying the Avenger and the Valkyrie. Do not destroy the Valkyrie until it becomes a target on your mini map or you will fail the prep. After clearing the camp head into the Avenger and kill the enemies, afterwards parachute out and leave before more Merrywheather show up.
Prep 5/ Kosatka: ( You can also do the Longfin, but I prefer Kosatka as an approach vehicle.)
This is a simple mission, after starting it head into your sub driver seat and fast travel to the nearest location near the ping. After you arrive dive your sub over to the location, once you get near get on your periscope and missile the boats and the helli. You can sink your sub and engage auto-pilot under water giving you better access to the enemies sub. Try to avoid beaching your sub on shallow water and put it in the middle of the yellow circle. Leave the driver seat and exit your sub, dive into the water and look for the other sub with a yellow marker on top. After entering the enemies sub you must locate the jammer. You have two paths, one on the right, this is usually where it spawns, take the ladder down and watch your corners cause enemies are brutal in this mission. After entering the engine room look for a black box with a blue screen at the bottom of the stairs if it's not there head back the way you came. Take the left path and make your way to the control room WATCH THOSE CORNERS. If it's not there head to the back of the control room and take the stairs down, follow the path it will lead you into the torpedo room, that another spawn. Leave and head back to your sub.
Prep 5/ Longfin
This mission is located in Los Santos basically you can take a phantom (Semi-truck) to the police station to pick up a boat of which you can use as an approach for the heist. This mission is simple: you basically go and pick up a phantom, afterwards you drive to impound to pick up the longfin. You will be met with enemies. The one I did was the cop impound, you can enter with your phantom and drive out. It's best to clear the area, and let the cops kill you for an easier delivery (you can't call Lester). You can use your own Phantom wedge to clear vehicles out of the way.
(during the heist you can use this get loot before you enter the drainage tunnel , this can be quicker way if your loot is out the way)
This includes the scope out and the preps
This includes the scope out and the preps
Tips For Preps
  • The biggest tip is the Sparrow, this will make prepping a joke, the only time you won’t need it is during the plasma cutter and Kosatka missions, but that's due to mobility.
  • You can see the cutting torch it’s blue
  • You can blow up the Valkyrie and end the mission to get the office mission to save time, I highly suggest this ( I do this mostly because you have to follow the helli up North and wait for it to land.)
  • The preps are the same, they never change
  • Save the Kosatka heist for last so you can do all 4 preps in Los Santos
The Heist
Time to Start the Heist. Go to screen and tab to Finale and shift over to continue to start the mission. Once you get to the selection process pick your options. It should be Kosatka or Longfin, Drainage, Drainage, Main docks or Kotsatka, and Day Time (there's very little difference between day or night). If you're playing with others you must hurry through the selection screen because if you take too long the cuts will reset due to a bug.
Squad Run
When you begin the mission you will have to make your way to the drainage tunnel, if you chose the Kosatka you will have to swim to the tunnel, but if you chose the Longfin you will have to drive the boat to the tunnel. Once you arrive you will have to cut the bars at the gate, a suggestion to do this is to go in a circle three times and cut whatever remains. Afterwards swim through the tunnel and enter the compound.
Compound
Once you enter the compound you will have two directions to go, the left or the right. My way is to go to the left, up the stairs is a guard next to the storage staring out at the water, head shot him and make your way to the courtyard. If you followed my instructions the two guards at the pool will be to your left. In the courtyard there should be a guard coming, wait for him to stop and head shot him. After that, ready your shot at the two guards at the pool, choose your target. Since you're in a squad, ready your shot, as a suggestion one person can count down from three to one to shoot at the same time to eliminate any mistakes ( these two guards usually drop the gate keys). The next is to eliminate the juggernaut, the way to identify him is by his red cone and red skull icon. He can be killed by a single headshot, if you and your squad were quick with the guards at the pool he should be arriving, take him out. In front of the pool there are two separate guards, one will be in front of the office building to identify him, the camera is facing the pool, if you time it correctly he will be to the right of the camera making for an easy elimination. The other guard is North East of the front of the pool, or to the right of the guard you just killed. You can eliminate him if you want too, the reason I do so is because me and my mates can all access the storages without worry. Next are three guards at the office, to identify them they will have red cones. One of the guards will be moving North towards the main gate and then will move South towards the pool. You have two options, one is to wait for him to head North and take him out, or you can head shot him when he’s coming South. To achieve this there are stairs directly in front of the pool, if you take the stairs up to the right you now have enough elevation to see the guards head ( this is tricky to explain which is why I will also have a video example for visual clarification.) After taking the guard out you can head up the stairs into the office area, once up the stairs head to the right, for clarification the pool will be to the left and main gate to your right. Head down the corridor if you have done this correctly the guards back will be facing you, take him out. To your left are stairs that leads to the office, take them up, at this point the guard at the top will start to move. You have two options, one you can wait behind a corner and hit the guard or if you are quick enough the guard will stop for a brief moment, giving a chance for an easy headshot. At this point you can enter the office, where you can grab the second keycard, the first keycard is dropped by any guard you have killed ( it usually drops on the first kill, but this is RNG based). In the office there are three things you can do, one is you can hack the elevator which leads to the basement, ignore this hack. The other things are either a painting that can randomly spawn in the office, and a safe on the right wall in the back of the office. Open the safe to get anywhere between 50k to 100k, THIS DOES NOT TAKE SPACE. When you have everything, start to loot up and fill your bag by going to the storages located around the compound, to open the storages you will need the two keycards and two people. You and your squad mates will have to swipe your card at the same time to open the door, another suggestion is to use the three to one countdown to sync swipes. The South Storage will have a guard moving, the guard is located to the left of the two guards you killed at the pool, take him out and watch for the camera. After you are done, please make sure to save space for the basement storage, make your way to the basement gates, they are located beneath the office building to the left and right, it does not matter which gate you choose. Once you are in the basement you will be presented with a hack, it may look daunting but in fact it is rather simple, I suggest matching the top first and making your way down. Afterwards loot up and grab the Primary Target, it is really straightforward to do so. At this time Pavel will tell the players that more guards have arrived, if you have followed thus far, you do not have to worry. Exit the basement, and head North to the main gate there should two guards, one will be moving the other stationary. You can take the stationary guard, you can also take the guard moving but if you and your squad can make it to the gate without doing so, go ahead. The host will be prompted to select the escape route, select it and a cutscene will begin. After you will be located outside the compound.
Kill in this order
Outside The Compound
You and your squad will be outside, if you are satisfied with your loot head left to the coast, you can jump off the cliff into the water. Once in the water you can swim off the island ,just keep heading straight and eventually you will have escaped. You can also try to steal a boat; note that some have claimed that boats may not spawn but if you manage to grab a boat this can make getting to and from much quicker. If you are missing loot head forward and take the guard next to the bike out, one person will have to head left toward a guard near a helli take him out and plant four stickies on the chopper. At the same time the other members will turn right towards the checkpoint, there should be three guards two together and one separate, and a camera behind the two guards. Take the one separate out, then the two guards, and the camera. Around the checkpoint are three bikes plus the bike with the very first guard killed. One of the bikes is hidden to the left of the checkpoint booth the other is directly in front. Start making your way towards the main docks, turn right into the jungle the moment you leave the stopping checkpoint. Pay attention to the guard tower to your right and avoid his cone, at this time Pavel will tell the squad that El Rubio’s helli is on the move, activate the stickies and he will retreat away from the island. Once you are close enough to the docks go on foot, your objective is to loot and take the boat off the island. There are two secondary loot locations, one is a warehouse with a guard and camera outside, take them out and loot. The other is located to the right with two separate guards, please refer to Sportskeeda map to see the location. Take them out and loot. Afterwards there are 3-4 guards you have to take out at the docks, to leave without alerting the guard. Two guards standing next to the boat, and one or two stationary guards looking out at the water. After clearing the guards, grab the boat and escape Cayo Perico. Congrats you have now completed the heist.
Note: You can approach the compound in any way you choose, my way is a bit complicated but with practice you can clear the compound at the same time as other routes. Feel free to adjust the route in anyway, my route is just a reference to get an idea as to how to approach the compound.
Note: I do it the same exact way when I solo, but since I’m solo I can skip guards and head to my objective. For the Solo run I go for cocaine, you NOT have to do this. I do this to maximize my profit, and since I am competent in my abilities I can clear the mission without many mistakes.
Solo Run
The strat is the same except it will be harder to take out the two guards by the pool, the major difference is you can not open the storage's to get gold or loot, you might be lucky to get painting in the office but that's RNG. A good tip when taking on double guards is to find a good angle, after killing one the other will flinch, he will prop his head up giving you the shot. You can scope the rest of island to find the most profitable loot which is cocaine, if there is none then get weed and cash (by scoping out I’m referring to checking the spawns for coke, if there is none at North docks and the Air Strip I ignore them, I do not mark every item only Coke and any profitable items at Main Docks). After leaving the compound there will be a guard in front of you next to a bike, kill him. Turn left and head to the next guy next to a helli, kill him and plant four stickies on the heli, do not activate them yet. Go back the way you came, there will be three guards at a checkpoint two together, one standing away. Kill the one standing away and then prepare to kill the two guards, after their dead shoot the camera and jump over the stop rail. You will have to be quick because a car will drive towards the checkpoint so make sure to do all that quickly. You have two options: you can swim off the island and finish the heist, or you can head to Main Docks to fill your bag. If you chose the latter run North East into the jungle towards the guards tower, but far enough away so he can’t see you. On your way to Main Dock Pave El Rubio helli will show up on the map, wait for Pavels vocal cue when he tells you that Rubio is in his helli, and then activate your stickies, boom Rubio will retreat. Now you can make it to your objective in peace. You can loot at the Marijuana fields but you may have to take out three guard towers and a single camera, as well as two guards near the fields. I’ll leave this to your gut if you think you can make it to the warehouse without messing up please do so. If you want to head to North Dock and the Airstrip you either can swim there which will eat a lot of time or you can take the boat at the docks to get there faster. Trade off is that if you swim it will take up time, but if you take the boat you will have to clear out guards to safely remove the boat from the dock. If you are satisfied with anything you get then just clear the area with loot and swim or steal the boat. This is for the Airstrip if you do not plan on going here IGNORE this. The Airstrip is an easy place to navigate since a lot of the guards are far from each other so you can clear the airstrip easily. There are two loot spawns one at the hangar with one guard, and a warehouse with two separate guards. There's guard outside the hangar kill him, and go inside, if your loot is on the second floor, look for a forklift and pick up a box lift and it up then press the box against the back of the hangar below a blue tarp you can then climb the lift and the box to get access to the loot. The other airstrip loot spawn is an easy place to clear, one guard will be moving you can head shot him from the hangar, at the warehouse there’s a camera shoot it and inside the warehouse is a guard questioning his career choice, kill him. If you need to head to North Dock head there by bike or by foot, you can loot without killing any guard. After you're done just swim off the Island, or take the boat. Congrats, you have just completed the heist solo.
Note: I will be adding a second strat to clear the compound, the reason for this is because a Redditor provided the strat. I do not mind adding his strat, but I must remind everyone that you can tackle the heist in any way you feel comfortable with.
I missed that gate keys, so I killed more than I should have.
Solo Run Second Strat:
Essentially, it is the same as the other one, except for going left you go right. Your first target are the two guards at the pool. They should be to the right of you, find a good angle and head shot the first one, wait for the second guard to finish flinching and kill him. The juggernaut should be making his way towards you, wait for him to exit the camera’s view and kill him. If the gate key drops pick it up and kill the guard in front of the pool he should be past the camera. Take out the camera and wait for the moving red cone guard to turn his direction North, once he turns around go up the stairs and kill him. Move towards the second red cone guard his back should be facing you, hit him and ascend the stairs. The last guard on top should be moving. You can either wait behind the corner and hit him or speed around the corner to head shot him, it’s up to you. Loot the office safe and make your way to the basement. Finally, use the gate keys to open the basement, hack and grab the primary target. Afterwards head up towards the main gate, a new guard will spawn, you can wait for the moving guard to move out of range, and kill the stationary guard. From there you can run to the gate and exit the compound.
I had brain fart at the hacking lmao
Heist Tips
  • You can swim off the island from any direction
  • You can steal boats for faster escape but that's up you
  • You can sticky El Rubio’s helli for to get him to retreat
  • In the compound you can jump ledges after clearing the enemies
  • For double guards, get a good angle after you head shot one guy the other will flinch, you can get the shot slightly after, or you can risk shooting him until he’s dead.
  • Guards do not react to dead bodies, in day time their visibility is the same as night, an Isolated guard can’t alert if everyone is dead. You can run, guards will only react if you're close, if you miss a shot and it gets near a guard or makes noise this will alert.
  • You can jump into the ocean to die quickly if you alert inside the compound
  • If you find a key you can open the desk to get a golden gun
  • If your underwater and a patrol boats cone is on you, they can’t see you
  • Cones can be obstructed by objects
  • ? Civilians may be able to alert guard?
  • Solo is more profitable than playing with friends due to not sharing a cut
  • If you don’t have to kill don’t, less interaction is good
  • Being stealthy is the best way, if you alert restart
  • You can aim in and hold the sprint button to walk faster
  • To activate hard mode, you have to start the heist when it becomes available
  • Try to avoid killing guards near the camera cones, the reason being is because this can alert the guards if the camera sees the dead body. Ironically, guards do not alert they seem one.
Game Over>
That's it ladies and gentleman, I hope this guide has helped anyone. I’m aware I’ve definitely went too in depth in this guide but I enjoy making it, Happy Grinding -Leaus

Cayo Perico may not be perfect, but...

As someone who has been playing GTAO from day one and no longer has hours to sink into video games, and has missed out on some of the best cars and stuff over the last few years... Cayo Perico is a god damned gift.
Now I’ve been especially hard on Rockstar ever since the Gun Running update. The massive buy-in for each set of new content was disappointing, especially when it forced you to endure the worst, most toxic player behavior in order to accomplish your mission, in effect locking the awesome vehicles and fun experiences behind a wall of just pure, intolerable bullshit.
At some point, it just stops being worth it. I even totally abandoned the game for almost two full years after I finally decided I’d had enough.
But Cayo Perico had my attention. A new piece of land? A heist you can do alone? Alright. I’ll grind out the entry fee (well, twice, because I didn’t realize there was a side entrance to the Music Locker and bought a penthouse to access it... almost quit the game a second time).
So yeah. It’s got some problems.
Yes, it’s disappointing that there’s no real free roam on the island. SOME way to explore, freely. Not that there’s much to do, but it would be fun to at least have it accessible in creator mode for some death matches or races and stuff.
Yes, the iron bushes and invisible walls reek of lazy design. No qualifier there, it’s just bad.
Yes, the preps are tedious and the heist itself a little underwhelming (lacks that big finale set piece).
Yes, the stealth in this game is still poorly done and frustrating (especially for Hitman fans).
But you know what?
  1. I don’t have to coordinate my very limited availability with my friends in order to play it. This is priceless. As a married dad, my window of opportunity to sit and play a video game depends on the expediency of a toddler’s bedtime routine and my wife’s willingness to retire early. Both rare, and extremely difficult to coordinate that rare opportunity with friends.
  2. I don’t have to rely on randoms who suck or quit part way through. Also priceless and I don’t need to elaborate. Other players are the worst part about GTAO and I’m tired of being forced to work with them.
  3. I can play it any way I choose, and the game allows for changes horses mid stream. The fact that I can think and work my way out of the mission if my original plan fails is SOOOOOOO much better than the rigid linearity of the older heists. Sure, I may miss out on bonuses and style points, but if I can salvage a botched plan by launching a dirt bike off a cliff and swimming for the dickens then I am happy. That’s satisfying. That’s rewarding in its own right.
  4. The preps can be done in invite only lobbies. In other words, you don’t have other players flying around and blowing up your equipment just moments before you deliver it. Meaning, your time isn’t being wasted anymore. This was the BIGGEST killer for me and the other heists- spending all that time collecting the stuff I needed only to have a flying bike blow up up at the last moment for no actual reason. I’d rather we go back to fighting over special crates again than deal with that nonsense.
  5. The payout is worth the time. More than worth it, actually. It may seem OP, and perhaps it is- maybe Rockstar is feeling charitable due to the state of the world these last 10 months, or maybe they’re preparing for some REALLY expensive content, or maybe this is a send off of the current generation and the PS5/Xbox4 versions will feature lower payouts or higher difficulties. Whatever the case, it actually feels rewarding to play this heist, so much so that I don’t feel the need to wring it out for every last second and I don’t mind if I screw around a little bit- I’m making enough money that I can take some time to enjoy myself. That’s surprisingly rare in GTA Online.
  6. All that backlogged awesome content is finally within reach for players like me. I know I can grind this heist as much as needed in order to buy certain vehicles I’ve never been able to sit in let alone own. I bought a Phantom Wedge after finishing the heist the first time. Next time I’m getting a Ramp Buggy. Then I’m gonna work up to a Scramjet. Maybe some other vehicles I never thought I could afford to blow money on, because I had to save for the next paywall property in order to access the new missions of whatever future update was coming.
  7. It is the model of what heists always should have been- set up your plan, attempt an execution of that plan, and adapt to the circumstances if/when everything goes terribly wrong. The old heists damned near failed you for so much as running the wrong direction for too great a distance. Players had to find ways to manipulate the game to add variety and Rockstar of course would shore up those exploits eventually.
I don’t take back my criticisms of Rockstar from the last few years. They’re still valid and I suspect they will continue to be for some time to come- until Rockstar goes back and fixes the egregiously arbitrary ways they’ve made efforts to push players in the direction of micro transactions. I’m not sure that’s something they’ll ever do.
But Cayo Perico has given me a new hope, that even if they never work backward, enough good lies ahead and the past can simply be forgotten.
Good work on this one R*, looking forward to what I hope is an entirely new design philosophy for this game.

GTA VI Credible Leak ? spoilers

First off I’d like to state that all previous leaks about GTA 6 is a hoax. All of the leaks regarding GTA 6 taking place in any other area than Vice City, is a hoax.

Grand Theft Auto VI is designed to be the most developed video game in history, and redefine open sand box games, letting the player fully immerse in the world and storyline.

In Grand Theft Auto 6 the game will take place in Vice City, but the previous storyline leaks etc, is all fake. The plot is completely different,. The game will host 3 protagonists, one being a middle aged white man named Johnathon Brooks, but is often referred to as John. John is going thru a mid-life crisis, and lives on the returning area called Starfish Island. John essentially is a life long career criminal, and exposes the player to a new crime element, fraud. John was born in Carcer City, and moved to Vice City at age 17, after running away from his foster parents, not much is known about his previous life before then, except he was in a very poor family.

John got into the fraud game in the early 2000’s, and he is 38 in game. he earned his money thru many fraudulent activities like credit card fraud, bank fraud, and did a few small bank jobs, and laundered his money with his own car wash business. He lives in a $1.8m mansion that he bought with his illicit gains, and the FIB are on to him. He borrows money from the local gang in Little Haiti, where fraud is very prevalent, and he starts getting back into his older habits to pay off the gang. The FIB notices this, and he ends up doing dirty work for the FIB, in order to keep his freedom.

The second character is Samuel “Shotta” Stevens, who is a member of the Haitian gang. He is a black, Haitian based character with more character development, than Franklin from GTA 5. He is 26 in game. The game also focuses more on crime, and the gang element. The player will experience the brutal reality of the gang life in Vice City, in the slums of Little Haiti, from loan sharking and repossessing the unreliable clients, to brokering the sales, that being kilos of cocaine, for the South American Cartel. Samuel lives in a Section 8 apartment, in the Little Haiti Neighborhood with his grandmother, Amy.

Samuel just wants to move out of the hood, but loves the gang lifestyle, and this gets him caughtup in the FIB drama with John. The FIB cuts him a deal also, if he can snitch out his gang, which the player can choose to cooperate, or refuse. This will change the storyline of Samuel dramatically.

The Third Character is a man named Xavier Gonzalez. Xavier is a latino man born in Vice City, he is 40 years old, and a cocaine kingpin. He lives in Downtown Vice City in his lavish $1.5m penthouse. Xavier is friends with John from the beginning of the story. Xavier is apart of the story no matter what option you choose, providing cocaine to John to sell, OR, Providing cocaine to both John AND Samuel, to sell together, and to strengthen the gangs funds. The gang system is similar to Red Dead Redemption 2’s system, and also has elements of GTA San Andreas. Xavier is also tied in directly to the nightclub business as well, having stakes in the returning Malibu Club, now run by the Jimenez Family, a latino Mafia, who has ties directly to the South American Cartel.

Each Character has a different personality and lifestyle, and will be a exceptional experience for the player. Former characters from past GTA’s will be making appearances. Luis WILL be returning, being a manager of the Malibu Club, Stranger and Freaks missions are returning with a more in depth story for every one of them
The map of GTA VI, will be bigger than GTA V and RDR2 combined, having several counties, having Vice City, based on Miami, the Vice Keys, based on the Florida Keys, The Everglades, based on the swampy Everglades in Florida. The game will also feature Orlando, which is named Corlado, and Tampa, named as Gulf Shore City, but downsized a bit. The game will feature sprawling countryside outside of Vice City and Corlado, with countryside towns, named Canisville, Centura, and Sentinel Point, along with towns along the Vice Keys. There is an Air Force Base, based of off Eglin Air Force Base, named Fort Sentinel. The Ocean is the Atlantic Ocean, with more shipwrecks to discover, plants and animals, and more. The game itself has as many animals as RDR2, and the player can hunt if they choose, although this is just a more of a minigame. Vigilante Missions will be back, along with Taxi Missions.
Character Customization will be better, from the belt on your waist, to the socks on your feet. Choose to your liking of luxury watches, rings, chains, earrings, featuring plain jane, to diamonds and rubies, emeralds, and more. Belts can be worn along with hightops, to lowtops and boots, and dress shoes. Pantlegs can be tucked into the footwear you choose, if the option is available. Tattoos will be back, along with hair customization. John is white so he can tan, or be sunburned, and the core system from RDR 2 is back aswell.

Tattoos will feature opacity and can also fade over time. You will be able to adjust the size of the tattoo. It will be able to be placed on over 10 different area of the body depending the size.

Since the core system is back, you will have to also bathe, to stay clean, otherwise you may notice changes in your cores.
You will have to eat to replenish cores, so you can cook in your safehouse, or go eat out in a restaurant, whether it be fast food or upscale. All characters can have relationships with women, similar to GTA 4 and GTA San Andreas. You will be able to buy extra safehouses around the map, and the amount of vehicles will be the same amount that are in GTA Online, and more. Every vehicle will be returning, and first person mode will be more enhanced, with more realistic vehicle interiors to immerse the player into every aspect of the game. South America will not be apart of the game, only Vice City and surrounding Areas.

Skills from GTA V is also being integrated back, along with exercising, to boost strength. Agility is a new added skill, and Strength will affect how hard you punch, kick, or melee in general.

Special Abilities so far, will not be coming back. This may be tweaked before release, but if they return, it will not be a major part of the game.

Car Customization is more advanced, different leather trims can be changed colors, along with wood trims and marble trims. You can add satellite radio, which lets you listen to radio stations in Los Santos, and Liberty City, but so far there is only two stations from each of those cities. You can also listen to all the radio stations across the counties. Neon is back, new spoilers and liveries as well, Along with different colors of tint. Subwoofers will be a standard upgrade as well.

Los Santos Customs is gone, and Pay and Spray is back, along with Viceland Kustomz, and Sentinel Bike Shop. You can also modify certain parts at the car dealerships.

The drug dealing system from GTA: China Town Wars is also returning, but a bit revamped. This is where the post office system comes in, from RDR2. Pounds of Marijuana sourced from Los Santos delivered by mail, to a post office near you. From weed to tabs of LSD, all the way to meth, heroin, and cocaine, you can reap major profits.

Casinos will be returning as well, one being a resort, others being small-time casinos. You will be able to rent a room in the casino and resort. The casino is named as the Malibu Casino and Resort.

Gunplay is improved with new realistic sounds. Interiors are just as detailed as GTA V or RDR2, if not more, I’d say. The insurance system from GTA Online will be integrated into GTA VI’s story mode, so losing a vehicle will not happen.

There is an abundance of new and old activities, that being over 50 strangers and freaks missions, drug supplying, or drug running, similar to GTA TBOGT’s drug missions. You can hunt, as stated before, but is more of a minigame than a money maker. You can fish as well, as fishing is a very popular sport, in modern day Florida.

There will be four strip clubs scattered around the map, one of them named Vanilla Unicorn South East, which is owned by Trevor Phillips, who is planned to make a cameo, only to be featured in a cutscene so far.

Rockstar and Take2: Here's some reasons you missed out on immense amounts of money by not architecting dedicated servers into your multiplayer setup

To bring everyone up to speed on network topology in games:
GTA Online uses what's called a peer-to-peer mesh network setup. This means that every PC/console on a connected session is talking to every other PC/console in that session. The preferred alternative for most multiplayer games is sever-client, where in every PC/console is talking with a single server.
With p2p mesh, this means that everyone shares authority. What this translates to is that a server is not the single authority checking for malicious activity, much of which anyone who has played GTA Online for is familiar with. This also means that anyone with the know-how can figure out what IP every other person is connecting from. This can lead to other malicious activity outside of the game.
But standing up dedicated servers costs money. Why not avoid that?
There are plenty of cases to be made where peer-to-peer connectivity makes sense, especially from a cost-savings perspective. But in some cases, like GTA Online, the benefits/gains from using a server-client setup far outweigh the costs.
So, in no particular order:

What Dedicated Servers Would Have Brought to RS/T2:

More purchases of cash in the Social store.
We'll start with the obvious here. When someone can get into a game and ask about [redacted method of obtaining money] and get a response 50% of the time, it's an obvious miss on being able to purchase prepaid in-game credit cards from the store. There's no incentive. And if they don't want to ask someone to do it, they can do it themselves.
Higher volume of Twitch streamers.
It seems easily correlated, but Twitch's research shows that livestreaming leads to better game sales. The reason this isn't streamed as broadly is because not everyone can get enough reliable people for a heist. Private sessions can be invaded by the same people who also [redacted method of obtaining money]. This is regardless of the privacy of a lobby, because those same people can find a unique identifier on the public Rockstar social site and join it, regardless of whether or not they're a friend or a crew member-- or simply not invited.
What this translates to are people who have such a low bar to pass to join a streamer's game and hold the experience hostage, crash the session or do any other number of malicious things. They can also impersonate people and send messages as them. So this further leads to things like not being able to do:
Twitch Rivals streams between competing streamer teams.
Imagine this: the game is pretty solidly protected from people who [redacted method of obtaining money] and those incidents they generate are rare, and when they do pop up, they're punished. So, streaming this game is far more viable. Competitive crews start forming, and Rockstar promotes an event with streamers where they're able to host lobbies and get 24, 36 or even 48 streamers in one session running 12 different crews for things like:
And so on and so forth. But because items have to be obtained through legitimate game mechanics, it also implements a grind. Maybe these groups/crews have been running for a while. But then you'd also be able to do:
Streamer Drops through Connected Accounts
We've seen other games do this, where viewers can get "drops" into their game by watching the streamer play it. These drops could have been literally anything that was on the Diamond Casino Wheel of Fortune. It could have even been a bonus spin at the wheel, to encourage getting the player in the game.
The Long-Term, Sharded MMO Experience
This translates to cash because people would be continually playing the game, which means more people paying for in-game cash and general popularity because more people would be streaming it, but this is the bigger buyback to the player, too.
Imagine a crew that worked hard at completing a certain set of heists on hard difficulty, no deaths, consecutive. Four people who are streaming their attempt like people do for raid bosses. And their reward was a unique yacht only available for them.
A ranked arena war system that awarded players who got 100 wins with a unique vehicle or livery.
The system could have been adjusted to make some things a grind. Making that money with friends, and then knowing that if someone had a high-end apartment, much less a casino penthouse, that they earned it through blood, sweat and hard work.
Powerful crews that were running around and happen to land on the same lobby and an all-out war with tactics, reinforcements and a consideration of cash drain to get the win in Los Santos.
These are the things that Rockstar and Take2 missed out on by not having dedicated servers with protections against [redacted method of obtaining money]. They were on the verge of greatness. They were this close. And I know that a lot of this translates over for Red Dead Online, too.

Is It Too Late to Do All of This?

No, I don't think so. If RockstaTake2 were to seek redemption from this, here's what they'd have to do:
Implement a dedicated server gamemode, and only allow characters created for this game mode specifically.
If people want to continue messing around in peer-to-peer sessions, maybe they allow that for a time before slowly forcing people over (because it's all about that money, right?). But create a new character (or duplicate the looks of one), and make it only available for play on controlled, dedicated servers.
You can even put Ye Olde GTA 5 spin on it and have Lester come in and say, "Yeah, I know the simulation was pretty fucked, right? It got hacked by kids on Christmas break. But anyway, now that you know what's possible out there in this stupid, god-forsaken world, well... uh, perhaps it's time we started making some money. And you remember Fleeca, right?"
Then people start off fresh, and work on earning things through the grind. I promise you, that'll net you some untold money and viewership. And I have faith enough that even if you made a very solid push into authoritative client-host conversion from peer-to-peer mesh, allowing the authoritative client-host to be controlled by Rockstar servers, you'd get something out of it.
And I will put a disclaimer on here: I don't know if the game engine is so archaic that it wouldn't allow for this kind of change. And if that is indeed the case, then the only thing that I can say is you missed out on all of the above by choosing to design what you did, because it is a proprietary engine.
But if you can, imaginary Rockstar or Take2 directory reading this, please, I implore you. Push for the change. This has been one of the best social games for me during lockdown, and I can't overstate how much everyone will benefit from this.
Sincerely,
~The Village Idiot

10 under-discussed things that make Cyberpunk 2077 an incredible game

Consensus on here about 2077 seems to be that certain features are great (graphics, art design, music, and for most people at least, NPC dialogue and storyline writing) but that most of the gameplay and open world itself is poor-to-mediocre, unimmersive and half-baked.
What's more, if you did that gig before talking to the>! pimp at Clouds (Woodman)!<, you even get a unique dialogue option to persuade him — "want to end up like Jotoro Shobo?" Stuff like this comes up constantly throughout the game, making even those 'question mark' activities feel like they're part of the same world and tying the entire experience together.
The single biggest example for me: I'm still not over a mission where you fall through a crumbling floor, leaving an NPC to die at the hands of incoming Arasaka goons. I had a brainflash, used double-jump to climb back up from the hole in the ceiling,>! and found him fighting a couple troopers - I killed them and together we fought our way out of the building through waves of incoming troops,!< leading to one of the hardest and most exciting combat missions I've ever played (mostly because you're fighting through narrow hallways against enemies from multiple directions).
I have a pretty good system, but not a 3000-series card (GTX 2080ti and i7 9900k), and I've had maybe 2-3 noticeable bugs (the worst being one where subtitles would get stuck at the bottom of my screen, which got patched yesterday), but yeah.... really solid performance overall.

Advice for a (returning/new player)

Hi guys, I have recently returned to GTA online and I’m kinda stumped as a new player (when I played last all you needed was a place to plan heists as this was before all the added content ...
I haven’t got enough money to even get a single penthouse at casino, arcade, bunker or anything else and every time I try to queue up a mission I can do no one joins
Not a bad player but I’m struggling to see any way I can join in with the content you guys are all enjoying without days and days of grind for even basic stuff .... am I missing something?
For reference I’m lvl 27 atm I have a house(from 4ish years ago) and about 250k. Spent all day trying to raise my level and am having fun but it seems like I’m only touching the barest edge of what the game has to offer.
Help and advice please.

Entitled Parent on GTA 2: The Electric Boogaloo

TL;DR: idiots think it's a race when it's a heist, get mad when my free street muscle car is faster then their million dollar sports car, try to fight me, get wrecked, invite me to a party to berate me, fake cry, mother flips shit on me, dad defuses the situation and gets all the of them to apologize
GTA can be a real shitty place at times. Full of toxic people, tryhards, greifers, toxic tryhards, toxic greifers, or worse yet, a combination of the three. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with a greifers in this story, (I did today, 8 of them in one session, but not in this specific story) though if I see them in a freemode session I'm sure they will become one. This time it was a combination of toxic and tryhard. Now onto the story: I was doing the Prison Break with some randoms. Level 16, 20, 156, and 295 (Yours truly). I was set as Demolition, 16 was Pilot (Hallelujah praise the lawd) , and the 20 and 156 were Officer and Prisoner (in no specific order). We all leave the building, the Pilot (who is unimportant to this story tbh) gets in his Declasse Tornado (Chevy Bel Air) and drives off to LSIA, while the 20 and 156 both hop into their yellow Pegassi Reaper( Lykan Hypersport + Lamborghini Huracan) and take off after me, in a white Imponte Phoenix (1979 Pontiac Firebird) . I was making my way to the Prison Bus, and they were going towards the stolen Prison Bus, so somehow they ended up taking the same route as me. Apparently they thought it was a race, because they were ahead of me at one point, before I hit my top speed and tore past them, so one of them shot at me with what sounded like the Micro SMG, then I hit the brakes because I both took that personally (This car is special to me; it was my first car, snatched it from some random pedestrian and kept it since)and knew what was coming and sure enough: Mission Failed; The Cops Were Alerted. We restarted, Pilot boy went to LSIA, the other two went to their Reaper and left before me, and I came not long after. They stayed ahead for a little, before I hit top speed again and came cruising back up to them, but this time, they tried to PIT/Fishtail me, instead I pulled a pro gamer move and spun around to keep driving in reverse without coming to a stop while they crashed into a FQ2 in traffic, then I spun again, and continued driving. Not very long later, on a two-lane road in Rockford Hills, I crash due to a Surge coming out of the intersection out of nowhere and me not having enough time to brake. Before I could right myself though, up came the Reaper and it's two occupants. They get out while I'm still correcting myself, and attempt to blow me up with sticky bombs, though somehow these idiots blew both themselves and the Reaper sky high while I just laugh and stop in my completely unharmed (by the bombs, that Surge fucked it up) , since the cops would naturally investigate an explosion. Retry, Pilot goes AFK (at least I assume so; by the time I got the Buzzard, this guy was still sitting at the spawn location by the Arena), the other two take awhile to get to the Prison, and everything goes smooth right up until it doesn't. The two inside the prison die, making me lose the bet I made that the Pilot guy would cause us to lose. Retry again, Pilot guy is back but the dynamic duo die again, so we retry once again, two inside the prison die yet again, so me and pilot guy decide to just continue on with our lives and vote to leave, the other two vote Restart (One of them was the leader), and we end up continuing. Spawn into the session next to my Phoenix, and drive off before hearing the sound of a Compact Rifle and seeing my beautiful passenger window shatter. Against my better judgement, I stop and get out, thankfully my body armor absorbed most of the shots I took before I could duck down behind my car. I shot them with my Carbine Rifle MKII, then the other one came up behind me with an Unholy Hellbringer (Combat MG but aliens brought it), and almost killed me, though I have max health so I was able to turn and rifle them quickly. A fight ensues, and thanks to my absolute skill (oh yeah, and the fact that all they did was spam RPGs and other explosives and blowing themselves up), I was up by at least 20 on both of them. One of them leaves, the other tries to kill me one more time before finally sitting down and leaving. I go back to my Penthouse (if you saw the first one, you know the one) and got drunk off Bleuter'd Champagne Diamond, then got a party invite from one of them, then prepared to go in without backup this time. I join, and plot twist, both of them are in the party. They both start shouting and berating me, and based on the echo, I assumed they lived together. Another plot twist: They weren't 31 year old men child, instead they sounded like teenage girls. I couldn't help but laugh, and just wait for them to finish. Here's the latest transcript:

The game is great if you play it the way it was meant to be played

I mean this in a few ways. First is hardware. This is a next gen title meant to be played on next gen hardware.
It was announced for current gen, but we are seeing that current gen just can’t handle what cdpr was trying to achieve. They should’ve been honest about that
Secondly, this is a narrative game. It’s all about story and characters. It is not GTA V where you can spend hours fucking about playing tennis, biking, or getting high and fighting aliens. You can’t follow an NPC around all day and watch them live out an entire fleshed out schedule and life. Do I wish there was more fluff and side content like this? Yeah definitely, but it was never what the game was about.
Thirdly, take your time and do the side missions. There are the gigs which are the one off go here and kill/steal/rescue X missions. These are good for making money, but not much else. Then their are the Side Jobs that are fully fleshed out narrative quest lines.
It’s in the Side Jobs that’s the city starts to come to life. You’ll meet all sorts of colorful characters and see the inner workings of Night City. You’ll get to play with the games more unique mechanics like Brain dance, drone surveillance, stealth, etc... these side jobs have set pieces and locations that you wouldn’t be able to experience otherwise. Like robbing a militech caravan or making deals with some corpos in a penthouse apartment.
What’s even better is that doing these Side Jobs will have ripple affects on the main quest line.
Seriously, I see so many people complaining about police A.I or lack of barber shops. (Which are totally valid and need to be worked on) but completely ignoring the real meat of the game. The thing that made Witcher 3 the legendary game it is definitely wasn’t the sword combat, horse races or armor options. It was the writing.
So next time a fixer calls you up, give it a chance and you just might be surprised where it leads.

Entitled Mom defends man-child on GTA

Longtime lurker, first time poster, bla bla bla, you get the drill

So, I was on GTA Online with a couple of my friends (ranks 53, 96, 172, 198, and yours truly is 290). We were all in a MC together, and doing SYG (Stand Your Ground for those who don't know). I had my Youga Classic 4x4 with a bar & TV with an excellent sound system in the back, West Coast Classics blasting, and we were all just chilling, minding our own, when one of my boys notices a jet diving at us. Asshole destroyed my van (which officially set me off, because don't nobody mess with my ride), and killed 3 of the 5 (I was one who survived). Me & the other survivor called our MKIIs, while the others on the ground jumped into a TM-02 Khanjali (A tank), and tried to shoot him down, though they kept missing (Don't blame them, the Lazer is hard to shoot down in anything other then another Lazer or a MKII with the Explosive Minigun, and even then it's kinda hard to aim). Me and my friend in the sky start attempting to hit them with missiles, though they appeared to have done their homework on flying and evaded all of them. They fired their own missiles, though none of them hit thanks to the Flare countermeasure (which redirects the rocket). Eventually, we won SYG, and were about to jet, but the mean one decided otherwise.
We decided we'd had enough of his BS, so we devised a plan against him. The 3 without MKIIs, the stood on the ground as bait, in an area near alot of buildings. Of course, along came the jet noob. Plan set in motion. He dives at them, shoots them down, then along comes my boy on the right side, causing him to veer to the left, just like before. Then, in I come, somehow timing it perfectly and flying myself right into his wing, causing him to lose both the wing and control and crash into a building. Plot twist: Not even a full second after he crashes, he joins a different session. Legit, the moment he didn't have his little jet, he ran, like the coward he is. We all laugh, and return to my new Penthouse to celebrate with drinks and games. Not long after we get drunk on Vodka, stumbling around into each other, we get invites by none other then Jet Noob. We all join, and a very confusing and humorous conversation ensues. Here's the transcript for how it went (JN: Jet Noob, EM: Entitled Mom, F1, 2, 3, 4: Friends 1, 2 , 3, and 4, Me: A very tiny z ):
JN: *quite obviously in tears* So you all must think you're hot shit huh? You're TRASH.
Me/F2: What?
JN: You heard me you little piece of trash. You can't do anything but use your MKII huh?
F3: Coming from the one who was in a jet the whole time
F1: And left the moment he crashed
JN: Pro players like me DESERVE to use Jets!
F4 *muted mic for a moment, then apparently unmuted 'accidentally', and was laughing his ass off in the background*
JN : OH YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY? YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY YOU LITTLE SHIT? 1V1 ME YOU FUCKING PIECE OF TRASH! I'M THE BEST DAMN PLAYER ON GTA! I BET YOU COULDN'T EVEN GET ONE KILL
Me: Calm the hell down kid, it's just a-
JN: I AM NOT A KID, I'M 32 FUCKING YEARS OLD YOU FUCKING 9 YEAR OLD BABY!!
Me/F1/2/3/4: *bust out laughing*
EM: *in the background* What's going on down here?
Me: Oh sweet, he's a basement dweller as well!
F2: What's the bet he's a fat, sweaty virgin as well?
F3/4: I'll take that bet
F1: Let me in on that too!
JN: *making fake crying noises* These assholes started greifing me out of nowhere! Then they invited me to this party just to bully me further!
EM: *now on the mic* Hello?
Me: *after shushing everybody else* Yeah?
EM: Why are you greifing and bullying my son?
F1: We didn't start anything, he-
EM: Don't lie! Don't fucking lie! Tell me why you were assholes to my son!
F3: Dude, we didn't do anything! Your son killed us fir-
EM: DID I NOT JUST SAY DON'T FUCKING LIE?! WHY. WERE. YOU. BULLYING. MY. SON!!!
F2: Hey crazy lady! We're trying to tell you we were just doing Stand Your Ground when your son deci-
EM: MY SON DIDN'T DO SHIT TO YOU, YOU LITTLE BRATS!!
Me: *losing patience* Now what in Hell's name gone make you say some dumb shit like that?
EM: WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME YOU DISRESPECTFUL MOTHERFUCKER?! I WILL FIND YOU AND I PROMISE YOU WON'T LIKE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT YOUNG MAN!! YOU OWE MY DARLING ANGEL AS MANY FREE KILLS AS HE WANTS!
F4: Oi! Just because y'all suck a lot of dicks don't mean y'all need to act like them!
Me/F1/F2/F3: *dying of laughter*
EM: *Banshee mating call paired with unintelligible nonsense*
F1 :*puts everything that happened prior to the party in the party chat, then leaves quietly*
EM: OH NO YOU DON'T! DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE, I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU YET!
F2/F3/F4 *leave the party and join F1's party*
Me: Look lady, we tried telling you what happened. {F1} was nice enough to put what happened in the party chat, so if you have even the intelligence of a damn monkey, you should be able to figure out where it is, but I highly doubt that. *leaves and joins the others*
JN: *spams us invites*
All of us: *Block hammer*
I can tell we gonna be laughing about this one for a good while.

• The weather effects are stunning
• The lighting effects are next-level
• The Maelstrom Flathead mission played similar to the old demo - except that Royce isn't given the chip and he shot him in the head, so no boss fight since...he's dead. The original Maelstrom gang leader is in the building somewhere

• The music is amazing - both the score and the music on the radio stations
• It really feels like playing a tabletop RPG, in terms of the player's freedom of choice, character creation, options available, mission choices/consequences and stat management
• Choices feel meaningful and not just fluff. There is a palpable weight to your choices
• Character models are impressive - but nothing Earth-shatteringly next-level
• The world feels alive - living and breathing. This is due to the atmosphere, NPC animations/ chatter and the lighting & textures
• Most everything in the trailer was from the prologue of the game
• The devs took notes of bugs during play-sessions to add to the list of things to fix before release

• It was reiterated that all of the music on the radio is comprised of all original, new songs performed by famous artists and CD Projekt Red's own sound team
• Side-quests are extremely varied
• The map is obscenely packed with things to see and do
• You can enter most every building
• Katanas aren't Pink by default
• Lots of attribute perks with trees of upgrades attached to each one
• Corpo Life Path begins with your boss asking you to break the law
• Blessing Adeoye Jr. theorized that all 3 Life Paths may lead to 3 mostly different game experiences for the entirety of the game
• Huge variety of weapons. Even similar weapons have entirely different stats and abilities
• Some side-missions can affect things in the Golden Path
• Most players really liked the Braindance segments - some found it boring
• This game redefines what an open-world game can be. It may change how RPG's are made
• It is 100% an RPG first, shooter second
• Cyberpunk 2077 is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Revolution on steroids
• Most players liked the shooting mechanics
• Vehicles all have unique interiors
• This game is very much an RPG, where you actually have to role-play as the character you want to play. Example is building a scrawny Netrunner and having to talk your way out of fights, due to your low physical constitution that isn't conducive for taking damage. You have to use your mind; as a Netrunner would. But, you can also play a Strong or Fast Solo and still have Netrunning abilities and mix & match your stats based on that
• Grenades have a dome-shaped area of effect displayed while aiming before you release them
• Braindance functions like Rick Deckard's Esper computer in Blade Runner; were you can take an event and cycle through it - zooming in-and-out searching for clues. The advantage to Braindance, is that it can be played at normal speed, rewound, fast-forwarded and slowed down; as well as applying different filters such as infrared and thermal to root out any possible details or clues that may be evident in the footage. Audio can be triangulated and pinpointed to asses any audio clues as well
• Similar to Grand Theft Auto, you can undertake "Vigilante" missions to help out the Night City Police Department by foiling crimes and arresting gangers, thugs and CyberPsychos. I guess this means that you can roleplay as the Cop class after all ;)
• There are "Bounty" missions in the game. One of which has you tracking down an infamous and extremely dangerous gang of CyberPsychos
• Sometimes when you gain a level - you'll get an attribute point. No word on how often this happens, as you don't get one everytime you gain a level
• Your perk skill levels can not be higher than the corresponding attribute level; so for example if your governing skill for Stealth is 6, you're Stealth skill perks cannot go above 6 - unless you increase that governing attribute's number to 7 or higher

Rockstar and Take2: Here's some reasons you missed out on immense amounts of money by not architecting dedicated servers into your GTA/RDR2 multiplayer setup

This is mostly written in the GTA Online perspective, though it has crossover into RDR Online as well.

When someone can get into a game and ask about [redacted method of obtaining money/goods/vehicles/XP] and get a response 50% of the time, it's an obvious miss on being able to purchase prepaid in-game credit cards from the store. There's no incentive. And if they don't want to ask someone to do it, they can do it themselves.
Nevermind that the same group of people who can [redacted method of obtaining money/goods/vehicles/XP] will also just grief sessions. Better yet:
Better Control on Hackers/Modders
Anyone who is on the outside of RDR2 or GTA multiplayer has probably only heard telltale of what modders do in these games. Here's a list of what I've personally experienced:
The list goes on. The biggest reason for using dedicated servers, honestly, is to get rid of the griefers. It's enough so that I've seen people ask if someone is running a specific type of mod, and they know the commands to use to get gifted vehicles, cash, etc. It's prolific and horrible.
But cleaning those things up and preventing them means:
And their reward was a unique yacht only available for that achievement.

GTA Online servers decided to die.

GTA Online servers decided to die.

Got this after i pressed the \"continue\" button to reconnect
Me and a friend were playing GTA Online today (1/26), doing Agatha Baker missions at the Casino. We played up to the one where you have to destroy all the oil tankers.
I can't say what time it was exactly, but we started experiencing a bug where the game wouldn't process transactions (for example: quickbuying ammo and heavy armor in the mission screen).
Afterwords, at approximately 12:30pm EST (New York) I went back to the casino. My friend had left the game and I was in a public instead of private server. I noticed people in chat were complaining about experiencing similar bugs.

I spun the wheel in the casino, and claimed my prize (just a coat). Then, I realized I couldn't move. I told chat. Some kind person invited me to their penthouse to get me unstuck. But I couldn't pull up my phone to accept.

Some other person suggested trying to join a job and then leave the job. So I tried to pause to get into the quick jobs screen but Escape did nothing. Chat was stumped.

Then, here's the interesting part: at approximately 12:40-12:45, I saw loads of "X left the game" messages flow down the left side of the screen. And then I was kicked.

At first the game acted normal, and asked me if I wanted to reconnect to GTA Online as it had failed to join the session. I clicked "Continue", and the above screenshot appeared. Now I only started playing GTA5 since it became free on the Epic Games Store, but I've been playing it almost every day and I've encountered a few server crashes. But no messages have said this before.

In conclusion, I clicked Continue on this new error screen and was kicked into singleplayer. In SP, I could not pause or anything just like in Online. I assumed the bug had carried over.

Anybody know what happened? Got any similar stories?

I had to deal with a modder at the stroke of midnight and if that doesn't sum up 2020 I don't know what does

So, here I am, trying my hardest to gather people around the lobby to drop by my penthouse or any other property to celebrate the countdown, I pull up at Maze Bank West to a Level 420 (first red flag) on a shotoro motorcycle. He gets off and claps me with a mk 2 assault rifle.
So I respawn and get to launch two rockets at an angle to get behind my car, from where he looked at the minimap. Nothing. I get closer and he emerges from behind my car, 3 shots with the new combat shotgun, not a bit of damage. He calls me out for bad aim.
I call him out for god mode, I run around a little and do a quick check. This level 420 has max stats, 4.0 kd/r, and he joined the 26th. 5 days. He has been a social club account for 5 days. I'm not past level 300 yet with 40 days played as my online character. He pulls out a mk 2, but does nothing with it, just sits on top of a roof while we duke it out in chat. I catch him off guard, clean headshot kill. (This is the worst type of thing to happen) He dies, and says 'see? no godmode' Oh wow! A godmode you can turn off! Did you know that existed? I sure did.
So I proceed to question him how he got what looked like a customized mk 2, which needs a terrorbyte and nightclub, a shotoro, and enough to pay for mk 2 weapons. He dodges questions left and right, saying he forgets. How do you forget what you spent, what I assume were 5 days of no sleep, playing 24/7 gta online?
Anywho, he continues to dodge, I end up getting lucky and catching him off guard again, had a nice sports car I so gracefully launched a rocket at, destroyed tha car, wouldn't you know it? He popped out and magically lived. 2 more direct rockets and 3 shots with the perico pistol to the face. I asked him to explain that. This mfer goes passive and says 'I was in passive'. Bro, then your car would've been invulnerable to player damage.
30 seconds left till midnight, this jerk off decides to kill the lobby via constant explosions over and over as midnight passes, I pointed out his name was the only one not dying, he said 'fam just go passive' like he doesn't know that mod menu explosions aren't counted as player inflicted and we'd die anyway. But since I pointed out he doesn't die, then someone in the lobby believes me.
To whoever that modder was, you're a c***.

Now I'd like to talk about this painting.

This painting is talking about blackjack I think.

Again it's a lot of little ideas that make up a larger one. This is me working this out, so I don't know if I'm right about any of it. I'm showing you because I'd like people to help think about it.

The grid again represents the playing surface of where the rest of this takes place. In this case I think it's the blackjack table in the private penthouse in online.

The brass knuckles are directly over this surface and I believe are meant to evoke the phrase, "hard hand". This is a term in black jack indicating that a hand either has no aces, or all the aces in a hand are valued at one.

The lady is overlapping the grid because I think she represents either the dealer, or one of the cards on the table. You can switch between games in your penthouse and when you do you get a random dealer. She may be one of those models, or maybe it just needs to be female. She looks a bit like Agatha.

She might represent a card though. Lady cards are queens. The fact that she is scantily clad I think is the joke. Casual attire. Or, any suit is fine. She is also greyscale like one of the hands. Is that a dealers hand, or a second hand of the players?

The tiger head. This is a face and it's slightly on top of the diamond. So a diamond face card maybe. Also if you look at the collectible cards from online, one of the joker's is a man's face with a tiger body. Jokers are wild and so are tigers. I think this indicates that we need to collect the card set for this sequence of events.

See here.

The diamond is a diamond lol. The casino, and a specific suit. The interesting thing about this diamond is that if you divide it on any of its main axis' it is inversely symetrical. So are face cards in many playing card decks.

Like this.
And like this.

Diamonds are a red suit, and one of the hands on the table is red.

The lightning bolts. This could be a weather condition, but maybe not. Two of them makes it plural, and even more rare. Two lightning strikes. To strike is to hit, which is a thing you do in blackjack.

So, we have 2 hands and 2 hits. I think it's saying we must split on queens, and one of those queens must be a diamond. Then we need to get 2 aces. This would be 21 twice. That equals 42 and the meaning of life.

A jack of either spades or clubs is also a black jack and that may be important.

The title of this painting in game is, "Let's subvert it". The only downard thing I know about blackjack is double down.
Again, I'm still working this out.

Marine dlc heist/revenge takedown concept

So u/O_tunafish posted a quick post about a cool dlc concept this morning regarding duggan starting an oil tycoon company here in los santos and my brain went nuts with ideas so i spent about an hour making this rough draft of a cool dlc concept i came up with and wanted to get some thoughts and ideas on it before i went and made a full concept, please let me know what you think so far of this rough draft and let me know what vehicles you think would make a cool additin to this concept. It may be kinda all over the place i made this after working a 16 hour shift at work so im super tired but wanted to write it all down before bed so i didnt forget it Huge shout out to tunafish for the concept to go off of!!
Vehicle prices are unrealistic with rock* and the payouts as well but one can dream right!!!
Georgina calls lester to see if he wants to make some money while destoying duggans fortune and getting revenge for vincent. She asks if he wants to get back at the texan oil millionares recent buisness venture of a multi million dollar oil rig off the coast of paleto bay. By destroying his fortune, the cheng family can get their casino back.
She tells lester to enlist the help of those weird silent partners that did the diamond job and any other contacts he has.
To start the heist you must buy a new heist room within the casino penthouse, (500,000) and lester will contact you to meet at his garment factory. When you arrive you go over the heist. You must choose between a silent and sneaky approach or a aggresive approach.
Silent and sneaky approch: starting at the docks north of the military base you board a tug, that has been modified to look like a fishing vessel and you head off to the oil rig... about 900 yards out from the oil rig the host and up to three other players dive into the ocean and swim up to the main dock of the rig once there you ditch the scuba tank and go on foot through out the rig taking out guards of duggans private militia, during the clearance of the rig one player must go about the rig planting explosives in particular areas of the rig, the main docks, the four platforms, main engine room for the oil rigging devices and 5 spots along the main work platform. Once done clearing the rig and planting the explosives you must return to the maon docks where your getaway driver (Franklin clinton) is waiting for you in a new vehicle the dinghy mk2. You take off towards the building at the end of vespucci beach all while taking on duggans militia on boats and in helicopters. As you get away from the oil rig you detonate tye bomvs and blow up the rig causing duggans fortune to crumble like his rig.
Aggressive approach: You take off from the casino helipad in a helicopter heading north toward the rig, once you get toward the rig you rappel down to the main platform where you face the duggan militia head on, and start taking them out in the biggest gun fight in gta history, you than plant the bombs and get to the main dock where you meet your get away driver (again franklin clinton) in the getaway vehicle and hesd to the vespucci beach while taking on duggans militia aboard boats and helicopters.
Payouts are based on difficulty: Easy is 4 million dollars
Medium is 5.5 million
Hard is 7 million

Games with a wonderful home base.

There was a thread on here a while back about how FFXV had great character and world building moments where you and your bros get to just chill, eat some food, etc. A lot of the comments mentioned games with a cool home base for the same kind of vibe, so I thought a fresh thread for that might be a good shout.
Original thread: https://www.reddit.com/Games/comments/egaave/more_party_based_rpgs_need_to_include_scenes_of/
Now there's lots of games where you can build and customise a home, like The Sims, Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, etc. They are great games (oh god how I love /Stardew_Valley). I'm mainly thinking of games where the home isn't the main focus, but rather a calm port in the storm for you to take a breath in between your adventures, catch up with loved ones, maybe hone your skills, or peruse your collections.
One of the first games for me that did this were the GTA games, Vice City and San Andreas specifically. Tommys mansion, and the Johnston house were always pleasing to visit. The mansion was like a Huge, live-in trophy, a sign of what you'd accomplished. The humble Johnston abode was in a way the opposite, a reminder of what you'd lost, the sting of a painful past. The GTA series continued this very well in GTA 5 with each protagonist dwelling really speaking volumes about them as a person, their situation and goals. Very effective environmental storytelling.
The Assassins Creed games have been hit or miss with the "home" feeling. In AC1 Masyaf was undoubtably cool, but also cold and unfeeling. There wasn't much to do there. Ezio on the other hand had a wonderful collection of bachelor pads, Monteregionni was a dream come true and really captured the aesthetic of the whole era. Tiber Island gave you the feel of being a secretive cult leader and wise teacher. The Galata hideout in Revelations may be my favourite though, so warm and smoky, rugs and blankets everywhere, incense burning, and oh that library. Not to mention the ability to create numerous mini versions of that hideout all over the city. Connor too had his charming Homestead full of well fleshed out villagers to interact with, a brilliant addition. Edwards Jackdaw was like a roving death machine with a hammock, and he had his island base too, which was sadly underdeveloped and a bit disappointing. Unity fell behind again in this area, the Assassins base, while visually impressive, didn't add much for me, nor did Arno's cafe. Cool concept, but lacking. Same for the Frye twins train, and The Adrestia in Odyssey. Just not very homely, lacking that special something. Poor Bayek didn't get a home at all, unless you count the 2 room bureau at the end, which I don't. Here's hoping the new games can bring back that Monteregionni magic!
I've waffled on longer than I meant to now and I haven't even mentioned the Ebon Hawk (Zaalbar, we're home!). The warm beautiful Normandy SR-2, before the alliance ruined it with cold blues and rooms of junk in ME3. The delights of camping with friends in both Dragon Age: Origins and Red Dead Redemption 2 alike. That dingy flat, or kickass penthouse depending on choices, in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (ooh, love getting new emails!). The Lucky 38, The Overlords Dungeons, and who could forget X-Com HQ!?
Please share with me some of your favourites, or tell me why my choices are terrible and I'm wrong!

The Diamond Casino & Resort FAQ Megathread

Last updated 2:00 EST, 27 July
RIP my inbox
All new posts asking about information already provided here will be removed and redirected here to reduce redundancy.

Release

As of 5:15 EST, the update has released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
  • 3.4GB on PS4
  • 3.2GB on Xbox One
  • 2.9GB on Steam
  • 2.6GB on Social Club.
On the note of releases... Some countries will not be able to access certain content from this update due to gambling laws. Thankfully though, players from these countries will still be allowed to download the update in general.

Money for Diamond Casino

For ways to make money to afford the new DLC content, along with methods to make an empty lobby to do CEO/MC work, check the Mega Guide.
Tips
  • You only need $50,000 to register as a VIP! If you have at least that much, you can register as a VIP for 4 hours and get access to VIP missions (which can be done in an invite only session), giving you a lucrative way to save up.
  • If you own both a crate warehouse and vehicle warehouse, you could use them together to make more money overtime than you could by using either exclusively. Use your sourcing/exports between crate pickups and sales, and you'll be getting the best of both worlds, gaining from the postive money-making aspects of both.

Gambling

As this is a Casino-centric update, there's plenty of ways to gamble away your hard-grinded money.
The gambling in this game centers around a new form of currency, called Chips. These chips are pretty much like real-world gambling chips, with a one-to-one dollar value, except you keep your chips when you leave the casino. Chips are an actual currency in GTA Online, as they can be used to purchase exclusive items from a shop inside the casino, along with being used to bet with when playing the Gambling Games, listed below
  • Slot Machines: There's plenty of options to choose from, but they all perform the same way. Spend some chips, and let the RNG decide whether or not you earn anything from it.
  • Blackjack: Casino style blackjack with up to four simultaneous players, all of which play against the dealer. Anyone who beats the dealer individually wins, anyone who the dealer beats individually loses, and if the dealer gets Blackjack (an Ace and 10/face-card), everyone immediately loses. Assuming your initial hand isn't a Blackjack, you have the option of doubling-down, which doubles your initial bet with the caveat of only being able to hit once.
  • Poker: Three-card poker. You make your bets, check your hand, and similar to Blackjack, each player wins if their hand is better than the dealer's, and the dealer beats whoever has a worse hand than him. While there is no option to double-down, how much you win does depend on how good of a hand you have. The better your hand, the more you win. Also, while you can fold your hand, you lose your initial bet anyway.
  • Horse Racing: Pretty much standard horse racing bettering. You choose a horse, you put your money down, and if you bet correctly, you get double the amount you bet in return. Otherwise, you just lose the amount you bet.
To gain more chips, there is a counter inside the casino where you can buy them, however you are limited in how many you can buy per day (real-world 24 hours). As standard, you can buy a maximum of 20,000 chips per day, but if you own a penthouse of any tier, you can buy up to 50,000 chips per day. Chips can also be traded in for money, but there does not appear to be a limit on this. No matter how many chips you win from gambling, it appears that you can trade them all in at once for the equivalent dollar value.
Lastly, there is the Wheel. It's a roulette wheel that you can only spin once per day, which costs $500 per spin. There are twenty reward slots, and since some rewards are in multiple slots, they have greater chances of being selected. The biggest note about this wheel however is that there is one slot in which you can win a free car! What makes this so significant is that since the car takes a 1/20 slot on the wheel, that means you still have a 5% chance of winning a free high-value vehicle! Compared to most online games, that's pretty much the most generous RNG you can get.

FAQ

Are there any differences between the penthouses
For once, yes! Well, technically... they're the same basic property layout, but each option gives you different addon options.
  • The Cash Pad: The basic Penthouse with no property addons available . You cannot purchase a garage, extra bedroom, lounge, etc. with the Cash Pad. You can, however, purchase penthouse customizations (colour and wall patterns).
  • The Party Penthouse: Gives you certain of the addon options: the main Penthouse, the Extra Bedroom, the Lounge Area, the Spa, and the Bar and Party Hub. You are locked to these options, no more, no less.
  • The High Roller: Gives you all of the property addons as standard, and the most expensive penthouse customization options... this means that you cannot choose your own colour and wall patterns with this version.
  • The "Design Your Own": ...What should be the standard option. It gives you the basic penthouse and allows you to choose which addons and customizations you want, with an extra cost for each one, of course. Just get this one. You can also renovate this option later, allowing you to purchase more addons and change your customizations later.
What do the Penthouse Addons do?
  • Lounge Area: Allows you to purchase the other Penthouse Addons (except for the Extra Bedroom and Garage, which are the only items addons that can be purchased without a Lounge).
  • Media Room: You know the cinemas around Los Santos? The ones that play a few 5 minute animated films on repeat? That, but in a Penthouse.
  • Spa: Gives you access to a hot tub and a Personal Stylist. The Stylist's services are the same as the ones spread around Los Santos (hair, contacts, and make up), but they're all free.
  • Bar and Party Hub: Allows you to consume drinks that instantly intoxicate your character, along with access to special arcade games that aren't available anywhere else in the game.
  • Private Dealer: Allows you to play gambling games in your penthouse.
  • Office: Adds a standard computer, a Gun Locker, and a money vault (don't get excited, it's just aesthetic).
  • Extra Bedroom: Bedrooms in owned properties in GTA Online are used as spawn points, so why can you pay to have an extra one? Because you can now allow a friend of yours to claim it! The Extra Bedroom allows a friend of yours to use your penthouse as a spawn apparently, though the exact implementation of this is not completely clear.
  • Garage: Access to the Penthouse's garage bay.
How do I get the armored car?
  • To recieve the Enus Paragon R (Armoured), you have to complete the Diamond Casino's mission series, which you must own a penthouse to access. Once of the missions are complete, you'll be given the vehicle for free! But remember, it's uninsured and you only get it once, so immediately go into passive mode and take it to the nearest Los Santos Customs to insure it, or else you could lose the vehicle permanently.

Passive Mode

Good news, passive mode has been fixed!
  • Passive Mode can now no longer be active when using a weaponized vehicle
  • A Passive Mode cooldown of 2 minutes is now in place for players who have just killed another player
  • Players now must wait 5 minutes before they can activate Passive Mode again after disabling it
  • Players now must wait 30 seconds before they can disable Passive Mode after activating it
These changes make is so that grievers can no longer abuse passive mode, or at least no where near as easily. If you start to get the upper-hand on a griefer and destroy whatever death-machine they're using to troll you, or if you confront them in a death-machine of your own, they can't abuse Passive Mode to try to get the upper-hand on you!

Solo Session

Check the Mega Guide for ways to push yourself into a public Online session with no one else in it. Keep in mind that some missions and abilities are unavailable if there's no one else with you though!

Bugs and Glitches

  • Apparently on PS4 and Xbox One, you must have full size of GTA V available to download the update, so if you have less than ~60GB free, you may have trouble downloading the update. This does not mean that the entire game is re-downloaded, it just means that the update may not download if you don't have that much space available.

The views are nice, but I'm waiting to see if they add Penthouses to any building other than Eclipse. If they added a Penthouse to Alta St. (with a view of the pier) I'd drop up to $2M on one and be happy to do so. A standard penthouse will set you back $1.5 million in game (a little over $20 in shark cards), with all the optional extras added, such as private blackjack table, bar, spa, arcade machines, etc GTA Online allows players to buy the Casino Penthouse. Purchasing this property comes along with its own perks and this guide will help players learn where to buy it and what it does. I'm new player i GTA V so i sold my old apart. to buy penthouse. I'm sorry to say this but you probably wasted a lot of money there.
